Maybe it also depends on the screen width, 1280 here.
Nope, I found what was different. See my edit above.
Thanks,
Steve
I see what you mean about the New button and that is indeed useful and I was unaware of its ability. I can see why its there now.
As to the changes made recently I do think it has much improved in the readability stakes.
As to screen sizes I’d prefer it to expand to fill the screen, I run 1920x1080 on a 22in monitor with FF maximised and with my bookmarks on the left taking some 1/6th of the screen and it fills nicely.

Update: I am now finding that New button extremely useful, dont know if it had that function before but sure glad I know about it now!
I’ve added an extra couple of pixels to space them a little more, but I don’t want to do much more otherwise it starts to make the listings a lot longer.
Thanks again! It is little things like this that make all the difference in how easy a forum is to read.
Looks good here in 1400 x 900
You can’t please everyone, but I prefer separate columns for subject, started by, replies, views… it is easier for me to scan down, sort, etc. Can you add a user selectable theme with the old columns?
My first thought was “Wow, I’ve got to get on these boards more often…” I like it.
Given the amount of time I (and others) have spent just getting one theme nearly (!) right, I don’t really want to embark on adding a second one that also needs maintaining. If sufficient people like the old style columnar view then I can investigate how easy it would be to change this theme to have something similar for everyone. I don’t remember the old style having the ability to sort on columns though. What does anyone else think?
I think you have done a great job with the upgrade, and the current theme is great.
Good job Chris.
Now that Simple Machines has a stable V2.x, it was time to upgrade. I did the same on a forum I administer. Looks nice.
Any possibility that you can increase the file size allowed on a post?

Traj
Is the old theme compatible with the new forum version? Can you make it available as a user profile selectable option?
Sadly not, they are made for completely different versions of the forum software. It’s like XP vs Win7 if you like.
Hey Chris,
Another thing for you to tinker with:
When I looked into my Profile->Summary, when you hover over Modify and Actions, it seems that the background box is in transparent mode.
Thank you for all the work that you have done with this version of SMF.

Seems OK for me in both FF9.0.1 and IE9.
Hi Chris,
Thank you for looking into this. Guess this might be my FF issue because, as I see that any drop down boxes seems to have the background in a transparent mode. At least for me it is… I will have to check my FF 9.0.1 settings.

Personally, I like the new theme very much.
I like the new theme too, a very nice change
Yes I agree, a fresh new look and new logos, it works fine for me… Thanks Mods for the changes and probably Budgie for some altered or new logos
Not probably
