Update problems after June 18, 2021

Hi Wim,

Yesterday I updated this script with all updates for some time.
Since then I have seen a problem with the sun block.
See attached picture.
What do you think the problem is?
The url to the page is: Assen Home Weather Station (WDapi version)

Many thanks,
Oebel

See http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/553629

Maybe you updated before Wim uploaded the corrected script?

I downloaded and installed the download yesterday, June 10.
I think the wrong sunblok file was still in there.
I have now found the correct file by reading all the messages.

thanks.
Resolved.

Brgds,
Oebel

I think you downloaded the large update 2021-05-23 with all updates as from 2021-05-23 - till yesterday.
Shortly before I uploaded the extra small update with the 5 scripts from the update discussion with the 2021-06-10 updates.
When I check your scripts there are still the 4 other updated scripts you need to install from 2021-06-10: fct_aeris (2 scripts) , fct_wu and wind_small.
Better re-run . . ./pwsWD09/PWS_updates.php

Hi Wim,

I think I see the issue. For some reason, I’ve got an earlier version of the language.txt file, see below:

# $scrpt_vrsn_dt = 'languages.txt|01|2020-11-06'; # release 2012_lts
#
# key | flag |locale |language file |description setup/menu |countryFlag|wu locale |

en-uk |uk.svg |en-gb |lang_en.txt |English (United Kingdom)| |en-GB|
en-au |aus.svg |en-au |lang_en.txt |English (Australia) | |en-GB|
en-ca |us.svg |en-ca |lang_en.txt |English (Canada) |can.svg |en-US|
en-ie |ire.svg |en-ie |lang_en.txt |English (Ireland) | |en-GB|
en-nz |nz.svg |en-nz |lang_en.txt |English (New Zealand) | |en-GB|
en-us |us.svg |en |lang_en.txt |English (United States)| |en-US|

Attached file is the default file from the full download

languages.txt (2.55 KB)

Worked well, thanks Wim

Made the latest update.
Updated pws_livedata, and last rain changed to leaf wetness in the rain_block

I comment line 1516 in pws_livedata to work around this.

$weather [‘leaf_wetness1’] = (float) $wd [156];

I do not use extra sensors

 Thanks, forgot to make the values optional.

Attached updated version, will test 1 day and then upload.

Wim

PWS_livedata.php.zip (16.5 KB)

HI my Max-Min temperature reading are wrong (see screenshoot) I notice this after updating on June 11, I thought this might clear it self after running overnight.
Link to site https://southwestweather.com/pwsWD/index.php

Thanks

max-min temp Screen Shot 2021-06-15 at 4.27.31 AM.png

In the past, the small blocks for temp/wind showed only 1 value, as in another PWS_Dashboard site f.i. https://southwestweather.com/pwsdash_br/index.php

But with the latest updates all three historical values are shown in those small blocks.
So I “assume” that the values in the history are so strange for a longer period then since June 11.
The update did not touch any of the scripts to generate error-values for month/year/alltime in the history, with identical dates.

You can switch to only todays high/low value by setting line 4 to comment in temp_c_small.php

Or you can generate the history from scratch by deleting _my_settings/history.txt and running pwsWD/PWS_hist_recreate.php?pw=easyweather_pw

Or, if you have other history files to check, you can update the history with pwsWD/PWS_hist_update.php?pw=easyweather_pw

Hi Wim,

Sorry if this topic has already been discussed.

Has the dashboard gotten smaller? It used to fill my screen top to bottom, now it’s much smaller.

Cheers!
Michael

No, I am not aware of any changes the last months in the block sizes. Same size as previous lts-release 1912 or 1907

It is smaller when you

  1. zoom out Chrome f.i. to make a screenshot and quit.
  2. When you visit the same URL next day it is still small as Chrome will remember the last visit and re-zoom to how it was when you left.

I checked. on a normal desktop / laptop, your http://relayweather.net/pwsWD/index.php website next to 1907, lts-1912 and the current one, all same size.

Could have been that you zoomed in (made it larger) in the past. And that f.i. cleaning the cache or similar in Chrome the zoom factor was lost.

Can not confirm this (yet).
Using Chrome, FF and Safari all texts fit.

There is no more room available in that block to make the texts larger.

What browser and what device are you having this problem with?

Wim

I can confirm his problem with Firefox 88/89 on a Win 10 machine. Typeface is the same but the text appears letterspaced. Chrome/Edge are OK.

MatteoPV seems to be using Firefox in Win 8.1 (NT 6.3)?

edge.png

Yes, I installed latest release of FF on windows 10 also.
It has this problem, it needs 1 pixel extra to display the two words on one line.

Chrome and Edge work fine on Win-10 also.

@MatteoPV The only solution I can think of, is using a different translation. Use only “Radiazione”
IMHO, “Radiazione” in this “Solare - Indice UV - Lux” block is as meaningful as “Radiazione solare”

Wim

Wim,

Extremely minor find. The Davis Instruments URL link (The Best Weather Stations for Indoor & Outdoor — Davis Instruments) in PWS_index2.php is going to a 404. I’ve manually changed mine to About Us — Davis Instruments

Michael
