I have d/l the trial version of WD and am having some problems with the display. It is currently 12.40 here in the UK but the graphic in WD is showing nigth time with the moon. The clock in the WS 2300 is correctly set and in 24hr format.
I only loaded it last night and found that this morning when I booted the computer up that it did not d/l the overnight stats. The WS is currently set to wirless and runs on battery and mains supply.
One other thing. The cloud base graphic is difficult to read since the text is on the background of the cloud. Can this me made clearer?
Make sure you have the data logger switched on: Control Panel; Data Logger;
There is an On/Off switch on the WS2310 page that comes up, it is in the Off position normally so you need to switch it on. Then, when you boot the PC and WD starts, you will see a new window start before any data is loaded onto WD. It will take a minute or two to collect the overnight data before it downloads it, but as soon as it’s done so then the it will all show in WD along with the latest data.
As for the cloud base graphic, do you mean this one?
If so, I can’t anywhere in the normal WD program that will allow you to change it.
Yes the data logger was switched off - that is now corrected.

I am still stuck with the moon being out. I have set the lat/long using MS Mappoint which gives the info in degrees (51.008 degs) which I am putting into “Solar/Lunar & Coordinates”. Putting into the degrees box and clicking on “Set Lang or Long”. That does not seem to make any differnce and on restarting it is not kept in spite of pressing the update buttons.
Or try using degees, minute & seconds for your location instead of decimal degrees.
Although you pressed the update buttons, did you close the window by using the OK button or the X at the top of the window?
If you used the X then try using the OK button.
Just working it through again and realised that it was not updating the correct readings and found it does not accept decimal input, so have resolved them back to mins & secs and that now works correctly.
If you can wire the WS2300 display unit to the sensor pack outside then you’ll get better readings for the wind and temp data as the update rate is a lot faster with it wire direct.
Yes, that is my intention but just wanted to check everything out first. Not sure I have everything in the correct position yet but since we have so many trees around us probably one place is as good another, at least as regards the wind.
Also, when you come to securing the rain gauge to a base - don’t use screws through the base of the rain gauge. I did and it never worked properly as the screws bent the baseplate and pulled the spindel uprights together slightly, trapping the buckets so that they wouldn’t tip. #-o
I have just found that article and read through it. That was written in '94 - is it still a current issue? So the air has been still so no readings as yet.
See what it’s like when you get some rain. If you find it’s not registering then ease off the screws a bit.
I ended up removing the screws and getting two angle brackets that secure through the outer cover and it seems to be working now (not that I’ve had much rain since I did it! :roll:)
I have just done some artificail rain from the garden hose and got 2 clicks from it and is showing in the rain gauge. Saves have to get the ladder out.
Now l have left myself with zeroing the rain gauge. Thought I could do it through the control pane but all I can do is flatten the graph but the gauges still show the amount.
That is what I was trying. I have been back in and looked again. Through another table I was able to see the time of the rain. I could then bring that line up but cannot see any differnece between that and the previous lines. Deleted it anyway and it made no difference. In the table below that you can enter corrected totals but there is nothing there that changes anything.
Tried adjusting through Heavy Weather which is very simple to correct but reloading WD it does not see the changes even though HW maintains the adjustment. Thinking I might uninstal and start again.
