New moviemaker.exe -> much faster and much less cpu!

Ok the movie maker run ok but how do I adjust the bit rate of the output file? I had it at 500 Kbps and the quality was ok, now the bit rate is down to 193 Kbps and it’s not the best… also the file size is smaller due to the quality of the output.
Peter

Windy - have you tried it on 640 x 480 as I enjoy my full image and reasonable quality viewing so have large file sizes too. Well I think they are truncated to 320 x 240 during the process but…

see my post above about I am going to add where you can set the output size

as for the bit rate, you can adjust the frame rate…not sure about the bitrate…I can adjust the bits per pixel
its currently on 24, can be set to 32

tiggy, download vers 1.3
which will now create a moviemakerlog.txt, where WD is installed
and post that here

OK will do, thank you!

Here ya go

Will create last day video

***Can do convert.

btw, my images are 640x480

I will do some testing of the ten second option…post a screen shot of your all day video setup so I can set the same

but, do you have a
tensecondvideo.mp4
file in the alldayvideotenseconds folder?

Hi, sorry for the late reply, had to fix the lads technical lego lorry lol

I dont actually use the 10 second setup, just the every 30 second for last hour and all day

ah, OK
I have fixed and tested the every 10 minute from every 10 second
will test/fix the use every 30 second option

ok, found a problem with that too
standby

Brian,

I am impressed, very fast indeed, I have sent you a $25 donation.

Dave

thanks for that Dave
Tiggy, I have it working with the use 30 second option
try a new .zip download

next I will work on the ability to set the size and bit quality (24 or 32 etc)

one problem I see, with the flash movie creation, is that is expecting to use the .mpg file
but that is not updated, only a .mp4 file instead
I will have to see if i can get that to use that or get a .mpg file created instead

I have added ability to set the output width and height and to set to use 32 bit mode
in a new WeatherD.exe, in the all day video setup, included in a new .zip update
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/moviemaker.zip

will work on the flash creation
or, better I think, get this new program to create a .flv file (instead of a .swf file)
that can be used instead of the .swf file, as a flash based movie (e.g on your web page or inside WDL)
what do you think?
(then the mpegtoflash program would not be needed )

If not to much trouble that might be better.

You been busy mate…

H

Hi Windy, that works ok thank you,

Im not sure if your aware but when using it at 640x480 the quality is no better than WU’s video creation, the original moviemaker was 10x better quality at 640x480.

If its kept at the default video creation size, the quality is great!

you would have to have the original file size set at 640x480 as well?
(i.e is that the case, or?)

Hi Windy, yes, the original file size is 640x480

Good point, I noticed some quality loss in the normal pictures the time stamp ones (not the movie, have not checked that one yet), the sharpness is gone, but that might just be me.

Hi
just tried copying the files from zip folder to main wdisplay folder and started WD
at the 12.03 hour movie creation time i saw the moviemaker icon in the system tray for about 10 seconds then it closed i the looked in my alldayvideo and download folders for the .wmv files but only the ones from an hour earlier showed no new files
which file are the parameters altered for movie maker as the the program is not open long enough to maximise to alter anything
i use 640 x 480 images
i did get a log file which look similar to the one posted on page 3 of this thread
i have now reloaded full 10.37P b14 to get it working again
have i missed something
Harold

there is the moviemakerlog.txt file (if you have set for that to be created)
re the quality, try the 32 bit setting

Not working for me either, original moviemaker.exe worked fine, copied files to wd as instructed, ran create hourly and all day movie (wmv) manually. icon apeared, very fast but nothing produced see enclosed log,any ideas

moviemakerlog.txt (693 Bytes)

Hi after some testing i found i had not got use this file to make movie ticked did that and i got manual hour to work ok
i then did the normal unit and got it working but the manual last day only gave from 16.00 to 17.25 should of been 07.00 to 17.25
at the same time the test unit created a file from 07.00 to 17.23 auto so that worked ok
Harold

stewart45, no suitable files were found , thats the problem for you
I will add in more debug code to check on what might be the problem

hcorrin, let the all day video occur auto and see what happens
