New Detailed Rain Chart query

Might need to do some more testing.

Using Inches for Rain Units.

i did do some testing, but was pushed for time at the time, and at a glance it looked OK
and so thanks to all those who can give me some feedback and fresh eyes
i see the problem, the data is 10* too much
(i need to divide by 10)
use this build 17 .zip update:
http://www.weather-display.com/dowloadfiles/WeatherD.zip

Hi Brian

Installed the latest .zip and its working now.

Thanks

Best regards,

Henrik

Brian,

Looking good - here is a view of the chart that was automatically uploaded to my server -

Thanks for all your work on this -

Just one question - is it possible to have the header of the chart (the months at the top of the chart) to show on the uploaded version?

My November days got shifted down to the bottom of the month.

Rainfall for 1st was on the 6th, yesterday’s was on the 31st.

I’ll try to post a picture tonight.

Tim, try converting the logfile to data file (112007lg.txt)
Snowman, strangely the headers did not show in the screen shot, so I had to manualy put in some labels (and there was no room at the top)

Thanks for all your work on this -
Thanks! thats a great start to the day :D (the wife has given me instructions to shampoo (rug doctor) the carpet today, so I wont be around much today

Rug Doctor=Water= another feature possibility for WD!

Hi Brian,

I’ve noticed that my raindetail2.gif generation has no rainfall for the entire month of October. The total is at the bottom but is incorrect and the individual days shows all 0’s. What can I do to fix this?

Any help is appreciated.

Mike

the solutions have already been covered on this thread mth
but here it is again
the totals come from the view, rain detail setup
so set the correct total there
the data for each day comes from your data file
to reserect that, go action, convert wd logfiles to data (graph) files, and select 102007lg.txt, and the click on convert

Brian,

That’s the thing…I’ve tried everything mentioned on this thread.

Mike

do you have data in your 102007lg.txt file logfile

I think I see whats going on. Check out the yearlyrain total…how do I correct this? This obviously should be 26.268 down the column unless there is some new rainfall.

See partial here:

no, as stated above, the rain totals come from view, rain detail, and the entries set there
check the logfile alignment, under view, averages/extremes, cehck.correct the data

Logfile alignment seems ok. My graph (102007.inf) file is fine with the totals. When I try to convert 102007.inf to a log file 102007.txt it doesn’t convert over well and creates some bogus information for the rain. Any ideas?

so you have gone from no rain showing for october to rain now showing for october after doing the log to data file convert, but the data is not correct
is that correct?
(just trying to follow what you are saying)

Brian,

I think at this point my problems are beyond the raindetail2.gif. I obviously have logfile and data file problems with October. When I convert 102007lg.txt logfile to data file. The data shows the following at the top for my rain which is totally wrong. For the yearly totals.

day month year hour minute temperature humidity dewpoint barometer windspeed gustspeed direction rainlastmin dailyrain monthlyrain yearlyrain heatindex
01 10 2007 00 16 59.9 64 47.7 30.425 0 0 158 0.000 0.000 0.000 26.268 59.9

01 10 2007 00 20 59.7 64 47.5 30.425 0 0 158 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 59.7

When I go the opposite way and convert the data file (.inf) to logfile, the data really gets messed up with the time and the rain totals.

Example for the time (notice the 09 59 where it should be 08 59, it does this throughout the file for every hour for everyday of the month):
01 10 2007 08 57 62.2 76 54.5 30.445 0 0 338 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 62.2
01 10 2007 08 58 62.2 76 54.5 30.445 0 0 338 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 62.2
01 10 2007 09 59 62.2 76 54.5 30.445 0 0 338 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 62.2
01 10 2007 09 00 62.2 76 54.5 30.445 0 0 32 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 62.2
01 10 2007 09 01 62.2 76 54.5 30.445 0 0 45 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 62.2

Example for the rain (notice no yearly total and rain numbers repeating):

I hope this helps. The strange thing is, when I go to view averages extremes for the month of October, it shows the correct rain totals for the days. I really appreciate any guidance to try and correct the problem.

Mike

dont worry about the year or month rain in the logfile (as stated above) as that is not used

.zip and email me your data file, month102007.inf and the logfile 102007lg.txt

Brian,

I have sent the files to your email. Thanks.

Michael

All rain was lost for the totals for October in all areas.
Here are the October Daily rain totals

Daily rain totals
0.02 in. on day 3
0.04 in. on day 9
0.02 in. on day 10
0.02 in. on day 11
0.02 in. on day 13
0.02 in. on day 14
0.02 in. on day 19
0.62 in. on day 20
0.02 in. on day 23
0.46 in. on day 24
0.83 in. on day 25
1.94 in. on day 26
1.32 in. on day 27

I noticed that you said you tried converting the data file to log file
you should only ever do that if you dont have a logfile

there is a FAQ on how to set the needed rain totals for each day
try that first
