yes, i could do that
is it OK now though?
have not had much feedback, good or bad (but Dan did say it was OK now)
I think it would also be nice to add running total rain for the year and average running total rain for the year?
Just installed lates version, build 12, and checked ut the new chart. All total looks ok, but if i manually add toghether the rain for Oct, it does not match the total for Oct shown on chart, its missing 8.1mm. My wettest day was 40.4mm in Oct, but chart shows it as 37.7mm
Also, the view - temp/wind/rain chart - year data, still shows same amount of rain for Oct / Nov.
I was asked to send some files a while back Brian, to fix the last31data.inf file or something, but i never got any files in return.
I tried delete all the last31…inf files, mont9-11.inf files, and then i restarted WD, did the convert thing, then i recreated the last31data.inf fil.
Is this the correct way to do it? Notting bad happend here
the total rain for the month on the new chart comes from the total entered under view, rain chart
i.e it does not use the total for each day listed, which comes from the data file (and which can be edited, those daily totals , via, vew, , av/ext, correct/edit the data
I will check on the totals for the year in the temp/wind /rain chart…will be the fix needed no doubt…to use the current month total if its the current month to plot
Using 1037g - build 12 - I have a midnight reset.
Although the current month total is now fixed, the rain days are now wrong, whereas, the previous version I was using, ,build 10 I believe, rain days were correct, apart from a couple of months, which were a day out.

as mentioned , the rain days now uses the threshold for rain days in the setup, advanced/misc setup
check and adjust that setting
So if I want to make any tip be = rain happened that day I would set it to what?
Keep in mind, I use Inches not MM for rain.
the total, as mentioned already, comes from the view, rain chart
(so edit that)
the — means that it could not find that days data in the data file
Found it…see attachment. I noticed my new rain chart was not showing the correct number of days of rain. Changed this value and now I get the expected number of days rain for all the months in 2007. The default was 5 and I changed it to 1.
aha that’s what I needed, Dan
ps hm doubing about my avatar, to change it as often you do with angie ! evry week another one ?
I’m confused. Why would I need to edit the value when the system has the total and shows it on the chart?
Shouldn’t the system keep track of that data from the data it collected rather than having me make arbitrary edits to fix things?
How did the system get into a position that it “lost” the info. How would I know what other information has been lost that I don’t know about.
the --- means that it could not find that days data in the data file
Again, how did it lose information for those days? They show up in the NOAA reports, and I checked the log files and the data is there for both days there.
Does the NOAA report just have bogus information for that day since the Detailed Rain Chart says it is missing?
Doesn’t the system collect and store data in the same manner for all the reports?
as stated many times, the rain totals for the month come from the values that you can easily edit/set aif needed (note, they are stored there automaticly at the end of the month) under view, rain chart
I manged to duplicate the problem of not all the data showing for when you select another month to view, in the wind/temp/rain trend chart
this update fixes that:
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.zip
build 14
and it also fixes the last day not always showing in the temp/wind/rain trend too
if you would like me to check on why those days rain are not showing then .zip and email me that months data file
Aha, my rain detail chart for 2007 now looks good :)…however there is still one oddity, one day, 20 Aug is being shown as – and yet data for that day is reflected everywhere else it should be, and there was rain on that day. I’ve checked the datafile and all appears correct. Any clues ?
(Had a quick look at a rain detail for 2006, and there seems to be a lot of oddities, however I will check all my data/logfiles before calling these as an error.)

if you could .zip and email me that data file, I will check
(as I have not received Kelvinraz’s one)
(as I dont have any missing days myself)
thanks
The update does appear to fix the problems with displaying all the day’s in past months data in the wind/temp/rain trend chart. This appears to be working now for the first time in a very long time.
No adjustments were made, just the WD update.
This is the first time I’ve looked at this chart and mine all looks OK except the average line at the bottom.
I am trying to understand what exactly this is supposed to be. I found a comment from Brian about adding a rolling average for the year but it does not look logical when shown under the monthly total, also the figures dont make sense. Logically you cannot have an average for January but I think it should show the same as the total, but it does not, if I add January and February totals and divide by 2 it is not the number displayed in the chart. This applies all the way along the chart. I cannot make sense of any of the figures.
Edit: I just had a thought is this the average rainfall for the month across all the years of data which is available in WD’s records?

yes
if anyones interested, build 16 has added year to date running total and average year to date running total
and also you can now have this new rain chart set to be uploaded to your web site (tick that option where you set the times for the rain detail in the setup#2 in the ftp/internet setup (created/upload as raindetail2.gif)
Hi Brian
THanks for a great feature - but my raindetal2.gif is a little bit wroing in the raintotal year. (the decimal is missing)
See attached pic.
Best regards,
Henrik
try a new download
there was one version that was there for 1 hour where the rain total was a compounding total (my fault)
