Middle of the night lockups

Last few nights program has been locking up (sorta) in the middle of the night.

Its still getting the data, and tray icon shows correct temp
but nuthin is getting uploaded to the site. If I click on “control panel” or “view”
those windows open , but thats as far as they go. It wont let me look at
any of those icons.

Program event log is also empty…

WD version v10.35L
Davis VP2 Wireless
Windows XP SP2 AMD XP2500+ 1 GB Ram

it could be the averages/extreme routine at 8 minutes past midnight
what happens when you go action, update averages/extreme now?

Tried that and it worked fine.

This afternoon same thing happened. :frowning:

Could open the main menues but nothing after that

Gonna see how that works.

Had another lockup today this time at 3:55pm :frowning:

Yup.

It seemed ok today and last night with 10.35r.

I couldnt tell the night before 'cause my computer did a
windows update and restarted.

davis has a new driver for the USB data logger that is recommend to stop problems like you experience

to fix the bug with going between month to date and year to date backand forth, use this zip update:

I installed the updated USB Drivers, but the WeatherD .zip only
has 3 files in it and I get a .dll error when I try and run it.

Am I supposed to use those in place of my original Weather Display files?

Once you download it extract it to the WD directory where you WD installed. Make sure WD is not running. Once you have extracted it to the directory restart WD. That should work for you.

I have had the same problem from day 1 (7-27-2006). I started with m version and now have r version. I updated the driver for usb from Davis and that helped for a 24 hr period. My WD has never run for more than 48hrs with stopping (usually stops ber a 24 hr period). When it stops I cannot close the program without the use of the task manager. It will restart but will not get data from the Davis untill I reset the CPU. What could I be doing wrong. I have a P4 2.53 with 1 gig memory. I upload ever 15 min to my web site http://www.sullys-place.com/ and weather undergroung. I also upload a customscreen every 1 min. Do I have to have this on a decitated computer?

do you have a USB data logger?

i recommend people get a serial data logger…exchange the usb data logger
this forum is full of people with problems with the usb data logger, which is fixed by getting the serial data logger

Yes I have a usb datalogger. Do I have to spend another $150 to get one?

Exchanging the USB for the Serial one?

I’ve moved to another cmputer to see what happens
and also make my kids happier that WD is not on a computer
that “THEY” use

There are also updated drivers for the USB. It seems to have cured the lockup problem for several people. You can do a search here and find the link.
