based on your suggestions I added the possibility to show Beaufort scale for wind and gust. Make sure you update the settings file to enable this if you want to display it. I also posted some general info in the blog.
new forecast source available - MeteoBlue. No API key required, just set up in the updated block settings. Works for both dark and light theme, you can configure number of days to display and units are selected automatically based on template settings.
I redesigned the block. I replaced the original gauge, which was not working well on smaller screens and I also added some descriptions to make it more clear.
Hi, I just added thejetStream plugin and the latest menu but can’t seee the jetstream link in my site menu. Probably jsut missing seeing it!! Which heading should it be under?
I have completely redesigned this block and made it much more sophisticated.
In this block, you now have many possible conditions/triggers. You first select if you want to enable this trigger. If yes, you provide a condition and corresponding message.
This is how the block then works:
checks which conditions are enabled
checks which of the enabled conditions should be activated based on the condition specified
for the activated conditions it will show a message (there are also wild cards that would be replaced by particular values) you provide in the block settings and for some you can also specify icons
If there are no messages to display, the block will simply completely disappear from the homepage and only show when there is something to display.
Conditions include:
specific weather conditions based on station data (temperature -above, below, change, humidity, pressure changes, precipitation, rain rate, etc etc.)
station online/offline
minutes before/after sunrise/sunset
specific time of the day
specific day of the year
specific date
The demo in this case is not very useful, but you will see exactly how it works when you install it and are able to access the block settings.
You have to add it to the menu yourself. This is how the new menu works. Once you update the menu.php you go to the menu setup and add a link to it:
#plugin(jetStream)
to whichever tab you want
The problem was that it was often the case each person thought it should be in a different place, so this solved the problem… you can now specify this yourself
this new block shows current wave height (probable, maximum) based on current average wind speed, with a conversion table included, units converted based on block settings and template settings.
