would be nice to have that image…save the image and rename it…or screen capture it and size it correctly to be a Top Banner for My meteotemplate site on top of all my pages, sorta like the way I have added a banner to my saratoga site, which that one with the narrow templates needs to be 800 by 80 pixels. Hopefully in a future update of the templates the possibility of having a top title banner will be Possible to achieve.
Yes Niko you are right, but I don’t know why…BUT it is only on the Forecast>worldweather online page. it is also happening on this other site in southwest Arizona…
Must be some error at their end/WWOnline forecaster site.
My Baro pressure on my homepage and weather conditions page shows correctly.
WWO forecast - yes sorry about that, there was a problem in one of the functions, I accidentaly wrote the “inhg” units as “inHg” and it was not recognized, will be fixed in next release
pressure gauge - I dont know why this is actually happening, I tried setting my units to inhg too and the gauge looks normal, just like it does on other webpages using the template, not sure what it is causing this and there are no errors in the console either, have you modified the script in any way?
dewpoint - I also wasnt able to replicate this problem, it works ok on my and other sites…
There is one other thing I noticed, I will have to figure out how the updates are going to work. The problem is that I did take into account the fact people want to add their own stuff and pages, which is why I created the “custom” folder, which will of course not be included in the updates. I have also tried to put as much settings as possible into one single file (config.php) and will try to avoid making changes to that one so that when new version is released, you simply use your original config without having to set up everything again.
But making changes to the actual pages is problematic, because if I now make a new feature for example, fix a bug etc., then in the updated version you would have the new modified version, but of course you would lose all the modifications you made. I will have to think about this, but I would rather recommend if you want something differently, let me know, ideally here or via the meteotemplate blog and I will see what I can do. Some people have already done this and I have added new features/optional setting upon their suggestion.
Last thing, I would please ask you BTrip to leave the footer as it was with the small meteotemplate.com link. This is to get it more “advertised” and also maybe someone will find it interesting seeing it on your web and will use it too. As you know the template is otherwise completely free, including support and I dont even want to put any sort of banners and ads in the template or on the website accompanying it and my goal is to let people know about it, but obviously I cannot afford to pay anything for marketing. I never intended this to be source of income, but in the future I hope I will at least maybe gather enough through donations to cover the costs for webhosting and domain name. So if you dont mind, please leave the footer as it is.
Solar Import
I have now imported all of my WD logs. However the Solar values are in another log (MMYYYYVantagelog.txt).
Looking at WD.php in Install folder this will not update an existing record (based on timestamp) I think with just the Solar value if I point to the Vantagelog?
Related to that it would be great to support UV as well, should be fairly trivial from the Database side to add column and update the import code/HTML.
Obviously a lot more work on the template to query and display though.
UV - yes I know about this but as you said, this will be a lot of work so sometime in the future I would like to add it, but at this point I cannot say when (and similarly ET)
logs - if your S values are in a different file then yes, that is a problem because I didnt know this scenario could arise. Would it be possible to include S in the logs? Or maybe just manually copy the values to the other logs? My guess is this could be done by importing the normal logs to a spreadsheet such as Excel, do the same thing with the S file, copy the column to the original logs and save as CSV, which can even directly be imported by the script.
The logs thing might be a bit tricky to get it right in terms of formatting etc. However, Im thinking since you only have to do once at the beginning and not worry about it in the future, if you send me all your logs as a zip file (I guess best by email, [email protected]), I could have a look at it and try to create the right CSV and then send it to you and you would just import it.
Hi, first of all thanks for adding the link, I hope you understand and dont mind. Next, I looked at your web again and for example I see you made some changes also to the display of current conditions, removed the sliding down panel with more data etc. This is all ok (although dont forget to also delete the units row), but I think you probably accidentally deleted some other parts in the code because some of the errors you are getting are not appearing on my or any other site I just checked that uses my template.
As I said, I recommend maybe if you have an idea for a new feature, let me know and Im sure we can find some solution. For example Paul wrote me recently he would like the gauges to show the values by default. So I added an option in the setting for the admin to choose the default state hidden/shown.
Not sure if this is the standard way WD works with logfiles.
I did previously have another station and then changed to a VP2 Pro Plus, so cant comment on how WD stores VP data ‘out-of-the-box’ but I think it will work the same way as mine with the vantagelog.
Yes I will merge the S column in via Excel though I do have 139 months of data so not looking forward to that!
While I am at it I will also bring in UV and ET to future-proof myself.
OK, well if you have that many months, my suggestion is you dont start.
Rather ask here on the forum about the default settings of WD:
if this can be changed and logs that include S generated
if the default setting - i.e. separate S is the default and ONLY option than I would probably write an extra script for this as you will probably not be the only one affected by this, and also it would be ideal because I could use you as my guinea pig to test it
Looks like this is standard behaviour, even if you were using the ‘Solar in a jar’ with an Oregon Scientific Station it would still be in the vantagelog.
OK,
so could you please send me several of your monthly logs, ideally always the major one and the solar one for the same months, lets say 2 or 3 months in total. One very important thing for me is whether the date/times match in the two files - in other words if the number of records and their corresponding date and times are the same, if yes then that would make things a lot easier.
just wanted to note…when viewing my meteotemplate on my cell phone…the header and footer sections dont display correctly across top and bottom of page, but the data and forecast seem to align ok. phone is a samsung galaxy S4 .
not a Big deal but thought I would let you know about it for in the future releases.
see screen capture of my homepage on my cell and how it looks below.
