For a few days I have had more or less correct information and my (Lightning Detector)
Function less better.

Not, that does not function.

so you are not getting lightning counts if you use say a bbq lighter next to the arial?
i know that jaxweather uses a 1 wire lightning counter with his VP OK

Serge, have you checked the battery in the lightning detector and that the ROM I/D is correct in the Lightning setup screen?

I do use a 1-wire lightning detector with my VP and it works like a champ…

Has it ever worked?
If it worked when did it stop, did you make any changes?
What is shown in your Dallas 1-wire setup for Lightning Setup

The battery is new, ROM I/D is correct in the screen of installation of the lightning
My apparatus to be functioned correctly since more than one year and one week plus nothing.
I specify that I did not make any modification.

Water got into detector.
Wire connections went bad.
Detector fried from nearby lightning strike.

For my case Lightning Detector is inside the house, the cables a 22 meters length after control functions normally.

check the com port plug is seated firmly to the pc

After several tests, my Lightning Detector functions correctly under Windows XP SP2, but does not function at all with Vista (even with the new drivers).

1-wire.

I haven’t seen anyone post using a 1-wire network with Vista yet, I know I haven’t tried.

Are there Vista drivers for the 1-wire network?

Yep, Vista is support on a Beta version: http://www.maxim-ic.com/products/ibutton/software/tmex/index.cfm

Looks like there’s a 32 & 64 bit version though so maybe worth making sure you have the right on installed.
