Today i try to use WD (last version) with Xubuntu 6.06 and i had lots of difficulties like lib’ needed…
Do anyone try it before?
If not, which one will be easy to use for a linux beginner?
The machine is based on a EPIA5000 500mhz+256mo+HDD
Thx
I’m running Xubuntu Feisty too on a VIA system, but haven’t yet been able to get WD for Linux working with my LaCrosse WS2350 weather station. I know the comms is okay because I can grab data from it (/dev/ttyS0) using open2300. I’ve installed libglib1.2, libglib2.0-0, libglib2.0-data and libgdk-pixbuf2 from the repositories. I can fire up WD okay, but when I go in to Control Panel, Station Type & Settings, I’m not entirely sure what to set - it doesn’t help that the font is so small it’s barely readable.
Am I missing something blindingly obvious? (I ask hopefully! )
tick the None first before then selecting the 2310 station type
I can read the font OK, but It looks like on other linux distros the font I have selected shows up even smaller
(for reason on my setup I do not have the font problems other people have)
so I will set it a bit bigger
That’s excellent, thanks Windy it’s working fine now. I’ll buy a license now to get rid of the nag screen then I’ll have a play with WDL too.
I’ll try installing a few more fonts on my system too - I expect they’re the wrong size for me because I simply don’t have the ones which are supposed to be there installed.
