Yes, I know that WU-forecast.php is broken. They’ve fiddled extensively with the website and I’m working on a script update.
Thanks for your patience

Whew, that was a challenge, but it’s now done. Thanks, WeatherUnderground website elves for complicating things
There are two updated WU-forecast.php versions:
Download: WU-forecast.php (SA) Version 1.13 - 07-Sep-2011 for old WD/PHP/World template set or standalone use)
Download: WU-forecast.php (ML) Version 1.18 - 07-Sep-2011 for old WD/PHP/World-ML or V3 Base-World template set)
With the new WU website changes comes a bit of a problem for English and Spanish language versions. WU has become a LOT more verbose in the text description, so the short one or two word description under the icon is now (possibly) long sentences. I don’t have a good way to automatically fix that while supporting multiple languages… Sorry.
Secondly, the words they use for High and Low temperatures do not have good consistency across the various languages which may result in truncated words in the High/Low temperature under the icon. I can’t fix that either.
Do send your feedback to WeatherUnderground to have them improve the specific language you are interested in.
I’ve attached some screenshots of the English, Spanish and Danish forecasts to show how it works with their updated website design.
Best regards,
Ken
Excellent work as usual Ken Thank you, up and running here http://www.weybourneweather.co.uk/wxforecast.php

Just like to add my vote of thanks, back up and running
Many thanks Ken!
Thanks a lot Ken.
Great work You have done. The forecast page 100% A-OK. Maybee even better danish translations with the changes WU have made.

Hi Ken, I think the spanish translation can be improved a bit with a few less words. If I can help you, just tell me.
Hi Luis, long time since we’ve talked…
Thanks for your kind offer, but you should direct your comments to WeatherUnderground about the translation. The WU-forecast.php script uses their translation and does not do any translation internally (except to change the target character set from UTF-8 to the correct ISO-8859-* version to fit in the templates).
I think they are trying to ‘fluff up’ the old forecast, and their first attempts are done with English and a (likely mechanical) translation to Spanish is also available. The rest of the languages from .wunderground.com appear to be in the old, terse format with a couple of words as the first sentence and that is what is used by WU-forecast.php as the legend text for the icon.
Another anomaly in the Spanish translation. All the temperature forecasts, for both High and Low say ‘Alta de NN.’ I put a bit of code to detect that and change the temperature High/Low to 'M
Thanks Ken, works perfectly
Hi Ken,

Whew!! Thanx Ken, Dunno where I would be without you.

Kind Regards, Simon.

Working great.
On my WU 7 day forecast page (here), the forecast for today, just under the icons, is repeated at the bottom of the list of days. How can I correct this?
This is also on my WU forecast, strange! Sandhurst Weather - Forecast, Advisories and UV Forecast, it’s showing 8 days, with the last day being a repeat of the first day (if you follow).
Ian
Hi Alan,
Regrettably, that is a new ‘feature’ of the WeatherUndergroun English (and Spanish) forecasts. The first sentence in the text forecast used to be a couple of words (as it remains on the other language forecasts). In WU’s infinite wisdom, they’ve made that much more verbose for English and Spanish, and offered no place in the page to pull a short (2-3 word) forecast text to use under the icon.
Since the WU-forecast.php relies on WU to provide all translations, I don’t have a good way of slicing up the English/Spanish (and likely soon to be other) texts to make a pithy 2-3 word legend under the icon anymore.
Sorry…
As for the ‘repeat of the day’, I’ll take a look and see if that can be filtered out. They’ve had some long-term forecast glitches (used to have a missing value for temperature, so it was easy to filter out).
Best regards,
Ken
Ahh… fixed the ‘duplicate-of-first-day’ forecast issue with an update to WU-forecast.php
