Every now and then my Wd will falsely show a wind gust of 300 plus MPh, and an average of 160MPH!!! I then have to manually change that error, its then fine for a few days and all of a sudden it just happens again, I have installed the lastest version but its still happening every few days
I suspect this is the LaCrosse problem which affects the ws23xx series. It isn’t WD at fault, but the station wiring.
There are some tips about minimising the problem on the forum somewhere. But basically, if you change the wiring from the telephone type wire to cat5 networking cable, it should fix it. Other, easier options are to place ferrites (baluns) on the cable and/or run the cables in such a way as to reduce any chance of interference (e.g run through a copper pipe perhaps or some other method to reduce the risk of interference)
I find damp misty weather causes the most problems with readings.
Thanks all, its been fine since, then couple of days ago every morning its reading 200 odd MPH gusts again! In the morning when its been damp and foggy!
I will get some cat 5
Whats the easiest way to “delete” the wrong wind gust info
