hello everyone,
im new here and have some problems and hoping some one can help.I recently got a second hand weather station linked it all up after a few problems and everything worked fine.weather display and the 928 was reading the same information.I woke this morning to find that that the wind reading on my 928 base station read —mph and weather display has said battery life is 0 but the sensors l e d is still flashing o k.also im having great difficulty getting weather display on to a web page and does anybody no the best place to position the instuments outside.

its a bit of a catch 22 ,…you need good solar to charge the batteries, but then you dont want the temp/hum sensor getting too hot in the sun either…

well at the moment I’m stuck on anenometeor don’t understand why it it just stopped working i got some advice on placing the wire on the anenometer to the bracket on a metal pole in the ground and reset the transmitter which i have done.still no joy though,I’m afraid there has been no sun since it went up it.and secondly i just cant get weather display onto the web so people can see my local weather when its up and running correctly.
hi ozzie - did you also reset the main console to get it to search for signals after you reset the transmitter? I cannot find my instructions but I think you hold your finger on “SET”.
Even though the battery is reading 0% in WD you will still see the LED flashing as it will be using power from the 4 AA batteries also installed. but I don’t know how long they last.
Some sun would help to charge indeed but normal daylight should still produce some charging - or try shining a torch on the solar panel?!?

I think i found the problem it looks as tho the transmitter may of packed in as i swapped it with the rain guage and now i have a wind display there is no rain display as for the internet side of things everything as im still learning the world of computers and cant get me head round setting a web page

these seem to be the problems with the internet that i keep gettin.
What are you putting into WD as the FTP server name? Some FTP servers give this error if you enter the server name incorrectly, e.g. ftp://ftp.uk.geocities.com should probably be entered as ftp.uk.geocities.com
Can you log into your web space using normal FTP software? If that works, then you need to use the same settings in WD. If it doesn’t work, then you night get a more meaningful error out of a normal client.
