I received this weather station as a Christmas present. The wind speed does not show on the console or in weather display. The vanes are spinning and 0.00 is in the display. Wind direction, outdoor temp, and humidity all work from the same sensor / send unit. The rain guage which is a separate sensor works properly. Any ideas of what might be wrong?

I’ve once had a similar problem with my new WMR200A. The only way I was able to resolve it was to reset the console but this was after a loss of signal on a previous functioning anemometer.
Did you reset the Anemometer after battery installation?

Thanks for the suggestion. I found that I had not snapped the cups down hard enough. I of course was afraid of breaking it. It is working now and results are at : http://www.fairpoint.net/~kalhank/
