Windrun in kts

This might be irrelevant, but after starting up WD (9.75a) I noticed that Windrun was showing 173.2 kts. After approx 30 seconds this changed to 199.4 miles.

As knots are a speed measurement I was surprised to see it used as a measure of distance, but perhaps this is just an initialisation issue and it never reverts to knots once it’s calculated the real value?

Knots is nautical miles, so its just as much distance related as any other spped
actualy,
all WD wind is actualy stored internaly as knots

I don’t profess to be an expert, but I’ve always understood that:

1 knot = 1 nautical mile per hour.

So windspeed can be measured in either miles per hour or knots (nautical miles per hour).

As windrun is a measure of distance (not speed) it should be measured in either miles or nautical miles.

Having been a navigator in the US Navy and an instructor in navigation I agree that 1 knot = 1 nautical mile/hr.

I have also been confused by the windrun having the unit (knots)
