Wifilogger2 problems

I recently moved my Weatherdisplay (v10.37s151) to a new Win10 virtual machine. I also moved from serial logger on my Vantage-pro2 to using the WifiLogger2. I’ve been having regular communication issues between WD and the logger that I can’t figure out. A restart of WD, or a reboot of the VM, clears up the issue, but only for a while. It can run for as long as a week, or as short as a couple hours before the problem occurs again. Screenshot from ProgramDebugInfo (attached below) shows a communication issue. I don’t think it is the logger because the restart of WD or reboot of VM clears it temporarily. Is there another WD log somewhere I can look to see if there is more information about what might be causing this problem?? Going back to the serial logger is not an option (due to new computer setup).

What about a serial to usb interface

I was really hoping someone could point to a log somewhere that might tell me more about what is happening, so that I can try to fix the current set up. For now, I’ve gone to a cludge solution - setting WD to reboot every hour. Then its never more than an hour where the communication is stuck. Less than ideal solution.

If anyone can point me where I might look, would appreciate.

I can only think of three places where there might be information logged.

  1. The WD log files which are in the WD directory structure.
  2. The Windows event logs which can be looked at using Event Viewer.
  3. Possibly logs created by the Wifilogger driver software. These might be separate or in the Windows event logs.

Like many commenters, I don’t have a Wifilogger which makes it difficult to know where any extra log info might be written to.
