Just changed WD to a laptop with Win XP and 256mb ram with 1 Gig processor, when WD does an ftp upload the WD screen changes size and position on the screen, every upload ( 5 Mins Interval) the window size changes usually to smaller, and then eventually closes program, this time around about 40 minutes to closing, it doesn’t happen when uploading clientraw to Meso Map, Local Weather and Weather Underground which happens every 15 seconds, when changing PC’s I updated to 10.37P
Any Suggestions, all worked fine for about a week, my drama may of started when I turned weather underground back on, is this possible
Cheers
Paul
I assume you had WD on a desktop machine before, 256MB Ram is very minimal and also 1GHz, for htm uploads. OK for clientraw and also WU uploads. For the screen resizing issue, try going to Setup, Set screen size % increase and select say 0.5 as a small incremental increase or -0.5 as a decrease and then if size ok, Save and Exit. Restart WD and see if it exhibits strange resizing again.
I just updated to the latest build 10.37p 13 and have something similar going on.
When I try to select update internet now from the menu it makes my wd display shrink. Eventually everything is unreadable but the WD window size doesn’t change, just all the dials and graphs and text. the only way to get it back is close WD and restart it.

Tok it was on a desktop before on a win 98 machine with 256mb ram and and about 1/3 processor that I have now, before reading your post I changed the setting in setup to fit to screen height, also turned off screensaver and took the wallpaper of pc, before doing this I had exactly what steve described above and eventually the wd screen would be the size of a postage stamp, now all seems fine for the last couple of days, when opening wd everything displays fine in full screen but after the first upload the graphs disappear and the dials etc display in full height but half screen and has stayed this way for a couple of days, the resizing as with steve has only happened with .37p and the as explained the desktop was a much smaller machine in comparison to the laptop, I realize XP would use more resources than win 98, but there is nothing else running on the laptop, not even antivirus
Did you try my exercise as it seems (or used to) to remember the last screen size before this current one for the top of minute image capture and should revert back to normal size after. Mine was resizing a long way back for the image capture at one stage. Once I performed a very small size change, the image capture was the size needed. This may not have any relevance to your problem at all, but noone else seemed to be offering any advice…
sounds like you have set to use large screen size
unset that
setup, use large screen size, no
then restart WD
Brian have tried a few settings in WD and laptop but WD still resizing, if I don’t click on the restore button next to the X in the main window once a day WD shuts down, this use to take a couple of days, I did above at 7.30am yesterday morning and WD shut off at 6.18pm the resizing only happens during the 5 min FTP upload, will try what you have suggested but this setting was selected when problem started, again after upgrading to 37p
try
action
reset screen size
then restart WD
also note that the new 3D gauges use a bit more cpu/memory
so if your pc is low spec then it might not be a good idea to use a version with those
No worries Brian will try that, have tried changing settings in PC but still does it, seems that if I don’t touch PC for a day then WD closes down, if I restore size of WD window once a day it runs fine, laptop has 1gb processor and 256mb ram (16mb shared) running XP home but with nothing else running not even antivirus
