I had to replace my webcam as my original quit working.
I simply swapped the camera. I opened the webcamcapture program to ensure an image is present. All is good.
Now the file will not update. I am saving (and have been) my files in directory \CamImages. It started to save images fine, my WD program was using and loading the image as the summary image.
It is a Logitech camera and I made sure the Logitech camera TSR software is disabled.
Now, for some unknown reason it has just quit. If I open the webcamcapture program back up… the image is there and live. SO what got screwed up?
it shows on the left of the program window of the web cam capture program info about where the image is being saved (directory and file name)
what shows there…compared to what it should be
If I change the camera image size it gives me the info circled in red (below) info but after about 45 seconds to a minute that info disappears and only “using camera…” info is present.
Where do I change the setting to reflect the proper directory and/or filename? Am I to understand that the image is not properly being saved in wdisplay\webfiles?
OK, I give up. I am getting beyond frustrated and confused and have NO freakin’ clue what I am doing here. I’m scared to death to make changes as it may screw something else up.
I do not understand where the “tempwebcam.jpg” file is being created, why it has that name when I thought I had everything set to use either \wdisplay\CamImages\SkyCam.jpg (.gif as appropriate). So if I understand what is happening, the file being uploaded to the server is called “tempwebcam.jpg” It is NOT uploading to the proper directory on the server and is NOT updating the file. Additionally my Summary Icon for WD goes to the correct webcam image for 1 minute then reverts back to an older image then never changes again.
I see both SkyCam.jpg and SkyCam.gif is being uploaded - to my root directory instead of in the \CamImages directory regularly. BUT The image is the exact same image every time - no time stamp or overlays… just the raw cam image… daylight hours all the time, no change whatsoever. WHAT is the file I should be uploading so it uploads the proper image? HOW do I direct it to upload to the proper directory
Obviously I am just an old idiot who has lost touch with reality cause this is not resonating with me whatsoever… EVEN using my old WDISPLAY.ini file when the cam image was working after a fresh reload of WD on a virgin HD … now it does not work. I mean this makes no sense as I have literally done NOTHING to the settings??? Since the OLD ini file had the camera working, I saw no need to change the settings.
