Dan,
If this isn’t an instance of two webcamcapture’s running then have you tried the second install and set your cam up within it, with all new cam settings or have you tried resetting your folder where images are stored?

Munrobaggins; true, I did got to the Control Panel and manually start the Web Cam Capture app because what I didn’t think the program was started, didn’t see the camera in the icon tray. After manually starting Web Cam app I do only see one camera icon in the try. Now that I think about it, there were times that WD did start the app and came up very quickly. Let me shut everything down and restart all anew. I will let you know what happens.
Jax, when I downloaded the second program, the info was already set in the Web Capture app, presumedably from the first WD program. I changed all setting and files to the new program and the web cam image did freeze. I un-installed the second program along with all files. So thinking that it may by the Web Cam Capture app, I removed the app from my program along with all web cam images and downloaded WD to reinstall the app. I also checked to reset all settings in the web cam setup off the control panel. I did all that last night, and this morning the image froze up again. :banghead:
Once you have everything restarted again IF the web cam freezes again do “Ctrl + Alt + Del” and check your task manager and see if there are two webcamcapture.exe listed…

OK, here are some times that make you go hummmmm.
At 11:03:06 image froze. I hit save at 11:44 and image started to recreate.
At 12:03:06 image froze. I hit save at 1:36 and image started to recreate.
I shut down WD and Web Cam Capture app to let the WD program start the Web Cam Capture app which it did automatically.
At 2:23:03 image froze. I checked the task manager and there is only one Web Capture app running. Hit save at 3:36 and image started to recreate.
Looking at the times that it froze 11:03, 12:03 and 2:23, is there something that is happening at the third and twenty third minute to make the file freeze? I will keep track of the times as the day goes along.
Those times are coincidental with making the movies for last hour (03) and allday (23) I think…
To add to my last post,
At 4:03 the MPEG to Video Flash screen pop on and did nothing and did not go away. Web Cam images were/are still re-creating as of 4:20pm.
i see you are using the flash option
(i use that myself and have now problems)
i wonder if that is causing the problem
also, what speed pc?
also, the times you quoted, are they 14 or 12 hour format?
Again, thank you all for spending so much time with me. If this problem gets too time consuming, please just say so and I will leave the all day video off the site. Although it is pretty cool.
The image froze at 4:32:15, so there goes the :03 and :23 theory. :angry9: :banghead: Again, came back to the computer and the MPEG to video screen was up and not doing anything. I closed it at 5:30 and hit SAVE to recreate the images again.
I do use the flash option, should I not and what else can I use to create the all day video?
I have attached my system info to give you as much info as possible. If there is anything else please let me know.
The file names are in the 24 hour format 16:32:15 etc.

i suspect that then that is the clue, the flash conversion program locking up like that , which is then creating a down stream blockage
you could try instead using the windows media conversion (.wmv) option (download windows media convertor)
what speed pc and how much memory?
I will look into the windows media converter.
Image froze at 18:03:03 The MPEG to Video Flash was not present. Check SAVE along with the “RESTART REGULARY” on the Web Cam Capture app just for the hell of it. I don’t know what that means or does, but couldn’t hurt… right?
I attached my system info in the prior post but here are the Cliff Notes:
Dell Inspiron 9300
Windows XP
Processor: x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8 GenuineIntel ~1596 Mhz
Total Physical Memory: 1,024.00 MB
Available Physical Memory: 399.85 MB
Total Virtual Memory: 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory: 1.96 GB
Ok, I’m losing it now. :? :? :?
I checked the alldayvideo file and there are no images in it.
I have attached a copy of the All Day Video setup screen and AllDayVideo file. Can someone take a look and see if I screwed something up while trying to get my images to work. I follow the FAQ the best I could but there are some additional options that are not explained and I may have selected something that I shouldn’t have.
The Web Cam Capture app has been running fine since 18:10 with no frozen images.
no attachment?
do it does look like it was the flash convertor that has been the cause of the problems for you?
Told you I was losing it. I attached the attachment but in the mean time I got the alldayvideo working. I think I had an extra j in a jpg file name. #-o I think I need a vacation.
To tell you the truth, I don’t really know if it was/is the flash converter. I downloaded the window media encoder when I set up the web cam a few months ago I just assumed the program would create the video with what ever program it need to do it. Is there a way to specify WD to use Windows Media Encoder and not flash? If so how would you do it?
As of 20:07 Web Cam Capture is working fine. Don’t ask my why. Would checking “Restart Regularly” be the answer? Ever since I checked it, this comes up in the Web Cam Capture; [INFO] using video device: Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 (WDM)

Hi Folks,
Just wanted to give you an update. I went all day with out the image freezing :D. So I guess what ever I did yesterday worked, either downloading the Window Media Encoder again, or reinstalling the Web Cam Capture app again or checking the Restart Regularly button, I don’t know, but it seems to be working.
And I would like to thank Budgie, Munrobaggins, Jaxweather and Windy for helping me out with my web camera. Thank you very much. Now it’s time to work on the home page.
