Could someone please tell me which boxes I need to have ticked in “Station setup”, “Rain Offsets” and anywhere else that might affect the WD rain total. I am using a Tempest weather station, and I know it’s not the most accurate but it does the job for me. The issue is the rain amount. last night we had some heavy rain and when I connect the weatheflow app to my hub (bluetooth connection) , it showed 7.5mm total rain since midnight (judging by the state of my garden pond I’d say this was about right), The display on WD showed just 0.8mm. All I want is for WD to show what the tempest hub shows. At the moment I’m having to manually adjust the rainfall. I’ve tried various options cloud base option ticked, measured amount ticked and neither ticked, I just can’t get the same readings.
Don’t know if this helps you but while I’ve been exploring WD - I did see that in the Station Type settings in control panel there was a tab for Weatherflow/Tempest with some rain type settings!
Thanks for the reply, I’ve tried various combinations of those and none seem to work. Also I noticed today that WD is not picking up the temperature or humidity and is still showing the values from about 5am today. If I look at the app or the online tempest website it’s showing the correct data so I know the sensors and the hub are working, but for some reason the cronweatherflow and WD are not picking it up from the hub.
It’s possible that the Tempest API has been changed. I’ve seen similar comments from CumulusMX users reporting that they aren’t getting updates from their stations any longer. If the API has changed you’ll need to contact Brian because it will almost certainly need code changes to fix it.
RESOLVED
Thanks for the replies and assistance, however I have now solved the issue, which was an odd one. Earlier in the year my Tempest station was playing up (no pressure readings), Weatherflow replaced the unit at a discounted price. I then updated weatherflow with the new station ID and everything was working perfectly up until a week or so ago. It took me ages to figure out, by checking all the station details that for some unknown reason WD had reverted to the old unit ID. It may possibly been due to WD being closed down without saving, or maybe a power outage (although I don’t remember one).
I was still getting wind readings so the sensor id for that must be the same, anyway I changed the ID of the station in the station set up page and “Bingo” everything is working ok
