Weather Webpages

I was just wondering what do I need to get to set up a weather page website?

Hello,

First you need a Web Host provider, and depending on the host you may need your own domain name.

Then you need a program that you can setup and it will automatically upload data to your web site at intervals you select… Hmmm one program would be Weather Display

There is a simple web page setup FAQ for folks that use Weather Display here:

Would I need a Weather Station?

While there are weather web sites out there without a station of their own, all they can do is relay information from bigger and much more resource rich sites…

If you want to provide weather information on your web site and not have your own station I would look at WeatherUnderground, Weather.com, Weather4You.com, and numerous others that collect data for the US or even world wide and provide banners or gizmos you can include on your own web site.

But to have a true weather web site of your own i can only imagine having your own station, which the majority that post in these forums do…

How much dose a weather station cost?

A weather station that can connect to a computer for the purpose of updating a weather web site run from about $175 - $200 USD up to $1000… and more

If you search through the Weather Station Equipment forum you should find some examples…

Most will come with very rudimentary software that will allow you to upload some data but to take full advantage of your station you would also want Professional software such as Weather Display which will add another $70 dollars US…
