For some reason WD has stopped sending out weather report emails unless I hit “Test” The times are set, main internet is on, website uploads are working fine.
What does your FTP log show at the time an email is supposed to be sent?
-Bob
The only time I see anything in the FTP log is when I hit TEST. Then it sends emasils like it should.
I have email event set for every hour on the 50’s. I even deleted all the times and reentered them.
I dont know what changed in the set up. I did a software update about 10 days ago and had to reconfig my whole station software.
Results from hitting “TEST”

check to see if your isp or the email provider has changed anything on their part. they don’t let you know with an email . I found that ssl was added my ports had changed.
for example, in December my work email access changes from outlook.com to Sign in to Outlook . there are maybe 30 people out of 5,000 that know that will happen, but at some point in time, 4700 people are going to wonder “huh? bet I need a new computer.”
I had that happen to me as it is to you. my q.com stopped, so I went to gmail.com… nope, then to the one my website is on… now that worked… so I explored over time and sure enough the q.com changed and no one knew.
A few companies want you to access your email on their site and figure that no one in their right minds would be using anything else but a browser to send and receive email. Well with the exception of us out here in the real world. so check with them to see. IF you have a gmail account test it on that or if you do not, get one, test it with their settings…
I think you’ll find out your setup is just fine, it is the others… let us know what you find, what your service is and all the other goodies.
gotta run
But the thing is if I hit the “TEST” button in the email setup in Weather Display it sends the email every time. It just does not send at scheduled times. It does not matter what server I use to send the email through. I have tried RoadRunner, and the email through GoDaddy my web host.
Post a screen shot of your email setup…
-Bob
hmmmm. Try this… clear all your times. then set a few of them to different upload times than what you have your gifs and jpegs uploading and see if that works. maybe things are clashing on upload times. I will attach my settings. I have 3 times set because of my needs. but our settings are close.
Also reboot if you haven’t already your compute, check your firewall to make sure it is going out unattended and maybe download a fresh full version.
I have already tried that. I deleted all the times. Saved it. Then re entered the times. I removed all the address but mine on different providers.
Still no luck.
Hard to tell but it almost looks like the Number 2 setup is selected? Do you have these settings in the Number 1 setup and in the number 1 setup only?
-Bob
Setup one is email to friends a couple times a day.
Setup two is email to EMA and local weather stations, set to send every hour.
Neither setup is sending unless I hit the “Test” button.
Seup two is temp set to just my emails for testing.

This is the FTP log from when I hit “TEST” in the email setup. There is no refference in the FTP log when a scheduled email should be sent.

and if you removed your email address from the list, is it different in results. The other thing, on your 2nd setup… what happens if you unchecked all of those and not have a 2nd setup. As I said before I have been here and it is spooky. I am not sure why it is doing that, when you changed no settings. Now your data itself is uploading without a hitch to your site, right? Did you change anything, any setting on anything else?
however if you just let it run on its own, the ftp program doesn’t send through your modem the packet, but if you initiate it it works without a hitch?
Strange things happening. I just rebooted the computer and lost all the setting for my weather station again. Thiu is what started the whole mess.
Guess it is time to delete and start over from scratch.

make sure to set WeatherD.exe to run as administrator
check that
if using vista or W7
also make sure to using the latest version, which creates a back up copy of the wdisplay.ini file every 10 minutes
