I just installed 10.37Qb75 and I’m trying to set-up sending an email to the Danish Metro citizen reporting program. I did activate the general Internet switch on Control Panel->Connections Went to Control Panel->Weather Report Email. Added report.txt under Attach a File, and entered smtp.gmail.com, my Google email address and credentials, activated auth login and SSL on port 587. Pressing Test also makes FTPUPD flash briefly in the systems tray. Problem is, it doesn’t seem to send any mails at all… ? The FTPlog looks OK to me:

I also searched the forum for similar posts and read the 2007 post for troubleshooting email, however, they didn’t really give a pointer to the problem.
Any clue to what I’m doing wrong? Thanks for all help/advice you might be able to give! /CBR
What email address is it supposed to be sending the report to?
You would want to make sure you are sending to a couple of addresses and check the trash or spam folders for those addresses and make sure the messages were not tagged as spam…
Thanks for your comments. I have tried to add several email addresses to avoid being caught in a SPAM filter as well as checked the SPAM folders, but so forth nothing. I have checked that there isn’t a firewall blocking, and there isn’t. I have used three different SMTP services including Google and standard port 25-no identification provided by my employer.
I have removed reports.txt as instructed, and the Wather Report Email window now looks as in the appended JPG. Any observations are very welcome!
I just set up a new WD instance using a gmail account, hit the Test button and it worked immediately. That’s the same result I have had previously :dontknow:
You are right, it works with port 465. Strange, as my Mozilla Thunderbird Gmail setup uses 587. For some strange reason it tries to send the email twice, which Googles SMTP server complains about. That isn’t a problem, as the duplicate address is just ignored. I checked the registry to see if the email address was duplicated in the list of recipients, but it isn’t. Here is the latest log-file:
