Weather Display screens not updating frequently enough

I’ve been using Weather Display (WD) for quite a few years now, and I run it on multiple Windows-based laptops in my house (7, in all). I have one laptop I consider “home” that WD has been running successfully on for years. I’ve installed WD on the other laptops through the method of:

-Backing up the Windows Registries Entries on the “home” laptop, thereby creating a wdisplayftp.reg file
-Closing WD on the “home” laptop
-Copying the c:\wdisplay directory from the “home” laptop to the new laptop
-Running the wdisplayftp.reg file on the new laptop
-Doing a full install of WD on the new laptop

While this has successfully installed WD on all my other laptops, there are 2 of my laptops that have a peculiar issue. The signals from my Davis Vantage Vue weather station/DLL come in every 2.5 seconds. I have found that on 5 of my laptops, the wind dials correctly reflect the changing wind every 2.5 seconds (when the speed and/or direction do change). However, for the 2 laptops in question, the wind dials do not update at this frequency. They update about every 10 weather-station cycles, or at a frequency of ~25 seconds. I’ve compared all the WD menus between the ones on the “home” computer and the ones on the 2 laptops in question, and I don’t see any differences; and of course, I shouldn’t see any differences, given how WD was installed on them. Simply put, the WD dials update every 2.5 seconds on 5 of my laptops but only update every 25 seconds on the other 2.

Has anyone seen or heard about this kind of behavior with Weather Display? Does anyone have any idea on what could be causing these 2 laptops to only update changes on the WD screen from the weather station every 25 seconds, and not every 2.5 seconds, as is done on all my other laptops? The two laptops that exhibit these slow update times are both running Windows 11, as is my “home” laptop that updates the graphs correctly every 2.5 seconds.

Any solutions or suggestions as to what I can look at are appreciated.

Just to confirm, when you say DLL, do you mean WLL, as in a Weatherlink Live console?
If so, is the WLL connected to your network via WiFi or network cable and are you connecting each laptop to the one WLL console using WD’s setup in the Station Type Selection window?
If not, could you confirm how you’re getting the data into WD on each laptop?

If it’s through WLL, I’m wondering if there’s a limit to the number of simultaneous connections that the WLL can accept, or your network will allow to one device, and that’s why two laptops have restricted data download issues.

Oops, you’re right, I did mean WLL, WeatherLink Live. The WLL is connected to my network/router with a cable. The WLL is set up exactly the same on all the laptops. Under CONTROL PANEL - STATION TYPE & SETTINGS, I click on ENABLE for the WLL and have the appropriate IP address in the box for the WLL. Distance to the router shouldn’t be a problem. I have 3 of the laptops stacked vertically in my office. The screens on 2 of them are being updated every 2.5 seconds, but every 25 seconds on the third. The green light for DATA RECEIVED is flashing on screens for all the laptops.

I suppose if there’s some limit on the number of devices, I could stop WD on some of the ones that work properly and see if that affects the ones that are not getting updated as frequently as they should be. I’ll try that.
