Weather Display for ARM (raspberry pi)

Hei,

So i start a new thread with a suggestion. I have been waiting this for couple of months now. Really would appreciate that someone who has access to the source code would compile it for ARM so it could be used on Raspbery pi.

Raspberry Pi CPU: 700 MHz ARM1176JZF-S core (ARM11 family)

Best regards.

Hmm, no answer for a week. So really nobody else would want to run this brilliant software on cheap 35$!! linux box?

Only the author, Brian, has the source code and he is quite busy with the Mac version right now. Maybe some day?

wview run on a raspberry pi. now i look for other solutions. wd would be nice.

I dont have the hardware, so I cant compile it on that

I dont think that allows compiling to that hardware
is the hardware running android or linux?

Just got my Raspberry Pi today. Been waiting for it for a while. Not really planning on weather with it, rather using it with something called Android Transporter to allow mirroring my Nexus 7 tablet to a HDMI big screen, but that software is still not available for a while.

I’m sure I will play with it a bit with some weather stuff until that arrives. Perhaps use my Perl scripts to grab info from the weather station just for fun.

I must say, despite knowing it was small, I was a bit surprised at the size of the “pouch” it arrived in the mail in.

Creating the SDcard with Wheezy-Raspbian OS on it now.

Linux… One of the packages (the one I am trying first is http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianFAQ )

Debian Linux, i use Wheezy
Firefox OS

Android 4 and Chrome OS comes later

Yes, i have tried wview and it works but when using it i need to create some script what will convert the data to format what weather display live uses (i want to keep using Weather Display Live).

can i/we hope, that you buy a raspberry pi and complile a version for this device?

I could provide the source code for someone to compile
who knows how to do these sort of things
you would need free pascal installed

Im a programmer but have never worked with free pascal (mainly work in C#). If there is not better option i could give it a go.

you wont really need to know much about free pascal programing
you will though need the free pascal ARM compiler installed (compilation is done through a command terminal)

OK, i got the fpc (Free Pascal Compiler version 2.6.0-4+rpi2 [2012/07/23] for arm) installed on my Raspberry. What do you need to send me the source code?

thats a good start
tomorrow I will find a monitor for my headless Linux pc and get the files to you (send me an email)

I sent you a personal message in forum and email with my email to [email protected]

It has been couple of days now and i havent received email… Was just wondering that maybe you have forgot about it?

I have not forgoten
now that I have got the Mac version custom tags problem sorted I have more time for other things
I just need to find a monitor for my linux pc
I think one of the kids has one…
I will look for the files tomorrow
thanks for your patience

No problem, i’m just exited about the idea of might getting it to work on Raspberry PI (:
