WDLive App not working

It appears my clientraw.txt file is 0 – not being created.

daily, extra, and hour files are.

What do I need to change? or reinstall?

Not being created or not being uploaded to the server? Because your FreshWDL (uses clientraw) and SSGauges (uses customclientraw) are not working, either. Check c:\wdisplay\webfiles for the original being created; if so, check FTP to server.

I presume the app is set to look at your web page url?

looking with my ftp client, it says it is 0 bytes.

on my install folder – it appears to being created. And the client ftp log seems to think it’s uploading.

Yes, all has been working. Have not changed where it thinks it is. But have been changing our ISP recently.

the gauges appear to be working right now.

Still not working for me. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. . . if you have changed ISP, do you need to change the url in your forum profile? - which is where I’m looking.

EDIT: both working now, at 1757 BST.

LATER EDIT: not working at 1824 BST.

try deleting the file on the server
but also try setting to use passive mode if you have not
and look for any errors or similar in the ftplogfull.txt file

Thanks. Passive mode was set.

I deleted them on the server. Things “seem” to be better. My internet connection is a bit shaky and I’ve noticed if Wdisplay can’t connect for a few tries, it seems to give up.

Not better. Still building clientraw properly but upload/ftp gives it a 0 byte file on the server side.

I cant help with flaky internet connections, which will not help, sorry
but if your ftp server allows, try setting to have the file renamed on the server

try setting to have the file renamed on the server

I am not sure what this means or where to find it. What do I rename it to.

Deleted the clientraw files this morning and the customclient.

clientraw.txt is 0 bytes on the server.
the others appear to be okay

customclientraw is not there.

I think it’s one of the settings on the main Real Time Client FTP page, third box down, Rename the file as a temporary file? But it would appear from the FTP log that you already have that set, if I’m reading it correctly.

What version? Since about build 120 there is a setting on the main FTP settings page “Kill process and restart if failed uploads”.

Note that this can result in a lot of “dead” FTP icons in the task bar, which disappear when you mouse over them. . .

I’m at v128

Realtime Client Raw. I have now selected “rename the file as a temporary file” (though it already seems like it makes clientrawtemp and then copies it to clientraw.txt).

the local webfiles seem to be created. It’s in the upload that it seems to change it to 0 bytes

I have now also in that window set “kill process and restart if failed uploads”.

These settings are in Web Files/Web Page Setup \ Real Time Client… window.

It’s certainly very intermittent. . . but FreshWDL shows it last got clientraw data at 08:26:27 your time, and gauges got customclientraw at the same time, so it does work occasionally.

I’m no FTP expert, can’t think of anything else to try :?

Yes, their last update was 8:40 my time.

Due to our change in internet, I had to flush all the DNS caches. I have no idea how long it will take for them to catch up or even if ftp makes a difference. (i.e. uses DNS)

Thanks for all the advice.

Just remembered something I saw in another thread: “No normal provider accepts 30 seconds FTP as that will be seen as DDOS-attacks.”

I think you are trying to upload every 30 secs: did this trouble start when you changed provider?

I haven’t actually changed providers – just a different place we are linking to.

That seems to be the default for the clientraw file (every 3 seconds). Says you can slow it down, but I can’t quite figure out where to find that.

My main pages update every 10 minutes.

It seems to be working? After changing the rename to temporary file?

Same place as before, “Delay between uploading data (seconds)” ?

Last update 12 mins ago, as I post. . .

It was set to 25 seconds. I have updated it to 45 seconds.

Gauges and FreshWDL seem to be working now. . . how about the Android app?
