Hello Everyone > Long Time Lurker here from MA… Great Software!
I have been having some problems for quite a while now… Just have not had time to spend on it.
Running latest version Build 51.
Vantage Pro 2 USB, Latest drivers and Firmware.
Also running high quality with dual ferrites USB cable.
USB settings always on.
Running on Server 2003. Xeon 3.0ghz 2gig Ram Server runs all the time for months on end with no problems. Very little CPU activity just runs Apache and WD and serves Media.
Sometimes I will come home or wake up and WD screen is all white. (I run it full screen.) When I kill it and restart it picks right up where it left off and will run again for maybe 10 minutes or several days. That’s what makes it so frustrating to troubleshoot…
Looking in log there is a repeating error
“Invalid Class Typecast” many times over…
What is this error ? And could it be the cause?

could be one or both of 2 things:
the dreaded USB data logger lock up problems
(make sure you have the very latest silabs USB driver for the davis station and also try wrapping the connections in tinfoil to the Davis console)
the invalid type cast will be an error most likely with a webcam image, i.e being jpg instead of gif, that you have selected to use, eg for animated gif
