WD not reading correct rain totals from GW1000

WD has been working great since Brian worked it all out for me…But now I have this problem… WD does not read correct rain totals from the GW1000… I have a Ecowitt HP2551 station and all is well there… But lately WD just will not read the totals accurately all the time… It does read them but does not seem to synchronize with GW!000 readings… I have made several adjustments in the settings and right now I have WD set at 30% offset but it just still won’t keep in line with GW1000 readings… See my photo … I have the Ecowitt Weather page and WD page as comparison…As well the connection setup… I hope ya can understand what I’m showing here… WD was always accurate with the readings but in last 6 months it has been doing this… Can someone please advise me… Thanks Bille

i know am having troubles with my weather stations and weatherdisplay not showing the same rain totals — why

@Bille
tick, use station rain total
in the weather station type setup
and the problem should be resolved

Thanks Brian… I’ve already done that and “unclicked” again… If you remember several months ago I had a similar problem and you suggested that… Did no good then… WD just will not accept the corrct value from GW!)))… Period… This problem has been there for me for some months and I always have to wait till it rain to see if I’ve fixed it… It aint fixed today still…

in your screen shot you posted that setting was not ticked
make sure it is
and make sure you are using the latest version of WD (and the latest crongw1000 version)
and then it should be ok

Thanks Brian… I’m using the latest version… 37S133… and Cron 5.3 …Again late yesterday I had another downpour… WD does not seem to want to “keep up” with GW1000… I have to constantly add increments of totals while it is raining… If I get good rainfall overnight like I did a cupla nights ago… GW1000 readings were about 15mm more than what WD reads… Yes in that screen shot you mentioned… It was unticked but at your suggestion I did tick it but as you can see in my photos it makes no difference… I have also gone to zero in the “rain offset”…

the latest version of the crongw1000 program is vers 5.6
not 5.3
make sure you are using the latest version, included in either the .zip update or the full install

Got that mate… I installed the latest version of WD again… This time Cron 5.6 came up OK… Thanks for that …Now… Please can ya make head or tails of my latest picture I’ve sent ya mate… I ticked the Station Rain box and left it there as is for the time being … But these figures keep coming up… Please can you or someone out there have a look and tell me what ya think I could do next… I haven’t solved the problem of the rain rate being recorded by WD … But I’m gonna leave the box ticked and see if it will read proper this time… But I’ve still gotta solve this problem of wrong month and annual totals when I leave it ticked… I appreciate all that you do Brian… Thanks Heaps… Bille

in your post, WD is now showing the month and year rain totals that are coming through via the crongw1000 app i.e what is directly being sent from that
which is what should be happening, if you have ticked to use the station rain totals

is that at least working correctly, yes?

I’m at a loss Brian… Have a look at my latest photo please… I had to reduce the size of this photo dramatically to send … Hope ya can still read it…I’ve included what Weather Underground reads and I’ve taken a snapshop of the HP2551 Console… WU is in agreement with the GW1000… I even completey cleared the yearly total from the console and waited a half hour and WD made no change to the reading… Yet Ecowitt Weather went instantly to zero for the year… WD Did not alter… I have since put the figure back into the Console… I am expecting a lot of rain later this arvo… I am leaving the Station Rain Total ticked to see if that will help WD read the GW1000… If that fails I’m going to completely clear the console history and see what happens… Any clues or ideas Brian?

the readings in WD that you have taken a screen shot of, are the readings that are provided directly from the GW1000 bridge via the crongw1000 program
that is working as designed and expected , when you tick to use the station totals

the problem is, you are getting confused
WD gets its data from the separate GW1000 bridge
which has its own rain totals
separate from the console, and the console updates wunderground

so there is no bug in WD, WD is doing as you have instructed and use the rain totals provided by the GW1000 bridge

is those totals are you different to the console display, then you can set them to be the same via the WSView app

Yep… Thanks Brian… I worked it out thanks mate… Would you believe I finally figured it out just prior to your last reply… I got into the GW1000 on the WS View and re calibrated it …Then I had to wait a cupla days for that confounded expected rain to turn up… It arrived overnight just now… Yep… Everything on WD is working fine… Best it’s done for ages… Touch wood… Thanks Brian and everyone… Now let’s see what else can happen in my little world  8)
