WD Mac and Campbell Scientific

Has anyone managed to get Loggernet talking to the Mac version of WD yet? Loggernet will only work with Windows so I have that running through Parallels. Saves a file to the hard drive which is picked up by WD currently working through Parallels as well. If I try to run WD Mac and access the same files, nothing happens, even though I have double checked the files locations which are on the same hard drive. Is this possibly something which cannot be overcome or is there some other way round it please?

it can be overcome

Thanks Brian, I believe it can be. it seems that the problem lies in getting the two parts , i.e., the iMac and the parallels part, communicating together. For some reason that is not happening.Certainly loggernet does not see the mac part when selecting where files are stored. I have had it working partly, but for some reason when I restarted it after some changes it was not. More investigations to fin out why.

I was meaning the WD Mac version

Share Files and Folders ?

Sorry for the confusion there Brian. I am sure it can. The new Mac version is so much better for me, and I would like to get away from using a PC but until a Mac version of loggernet comes along I am stuck. Of course there is still the well known data limit with this type of software, but I can cope with that.
Niko I appreciate the link . I will look in to it and see if I can get it to work. My mind is not really focussed at the moment as I have been hit with trigeminal neuralgia and the pain is almost unbearable.

So I believe that I have the Mac version of WD seeing the folders containing the data from Loggernet. I have set those folders to Read/Write for anybody, yet still the Mac part cannot see the data within the folders to put into the Mac version of WD. The Mac version of WD is the latest downloaded from the WD site a day or two ago. Mac has not yet been updated to Catalina. I am running Win 7 in the Parallels program. What am I missing here please. I know my understanding of things PC is not what it should be, soI am open to any suggestions whatsoever.

but I have not done any work on having this station type work correctly with the Mac version of WD
but I could do

Thank you for your kindness Brian. There are not many of us about compared to say Davis stations. I would be more than happy to contribute towards any cost involved, if you believe it is achievable.

I cannot get WD to read the data from the Parallel Win 7 , even though the program can see the data and I ‘register’ it through the Station Setup, nothing will come through. I have done it with and without my PC version on the same machine running , with no change. All the data is on the same physical drive within the iMac, and I have now managed to establish a firm connection thanks to some earlier help. It also appears to get some ‘data’ every twenty minutes or so as the count goes up but nothing changes. Is there anyone who has managed to achieve this out there or am I the only one. I would like to transfer all to the Mac but if it is not to be then I will carry on with the PC version inside Parallels.

but its not going to work until I do some work on getting it to work
I have posted this already
rather than trying and saying it does not work, I want you to work with me on getting it to work (Mac version)

Thank you Brian, I very much appreciate it. I am more than happy to do that. My computer abilities are very limited, I shall do my best. I will be patient and wait to see what little I can do to help you along the way in due course.

what I need is a copy of the data file and the fsl file or at least a screen shot of how you have it setup

use this update
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/weatherdisplaynewtest64.dmg

then make to have it setup as per the screen shot and make sure to reselect the .dat file too

Thank you for the work you have done on this for me. It appears that data is coming through, but sadly the graphs are not being plotted. I have checked all the the graphs producing parts and none show other than flat traces. I am sure you will know where to hopefully correct the issue. I have of course tried a couple of restarts and checked the colours to make sure they would be visible.

I see what is wrong
standby for an update

new update ready
should be OK now

Sorry for the paucity f reporting but I am very ll at the moment. Sadly whilst the data is coming in it is not plotting. I am using version 10.37Mac323. Is there something I have missed please?

that is strange, as I did get it to plot here when I tested
if you could email me your settings files
WDISPLAY.INI and wdisplayftp.ini from
~/Documents/wdisplay/
and the .dat file used as the data source

this is resolved with the latest update
