Currently running WD on an old Mac Mini and thought I would try upgrading to the latest version on my Mac Pro running Catalina.
Select what I think is the proper comm port and then select Ultimeter 2000/2100 and it takes about 5 seconds before it goes into the spinning beachball. Have to force quite it every time.
do you mean this was not a problem on the version you were running?
and you did have in use an ultimeter 2000?
its not very clear
the more detailed info you can provide the better
This is a new install on a new machine running Catalina. Downloaded version is 10.37Mac357.
WD would go crash every time I selected Ultimeter 2100 after setting up my comm port. Deleted the ~/Documents/wdisplay directory, restarted, selected the Ultimeter 2100 first and then selected my comm port and no crashes.
However, the Data Received light is flashing green and the Data Quality light is green as well but the Data Received counter is not incrementing. The graphs show like they’re tracking activity and the measurements are reasonable on the graph. The Maximum Gust Today, Last Hour and Average are populated but every other measurement is 0. The Maximum and Minimum Temperatures show times but are 0 as well.
My incoming feed from my weather station is split and concurrently feeding a Mac Mini running 10.37Mac306 and is working fine. I copied the Weather Station setup from it so it should be working with the new version.
ah…I suspect then was a problem with a setting then if new settings work
re the data not populating on the left, I think I know why
I will fix
stand by
copy over the datafiles and logfiles folders from
~/Documents/wdisplay/
and the wdisplaytp.ini and WDISPLAY.INI …with the later, you might have problems with certain settings so you could just copy across the Rain sections and all time records sections (do that when WD is not running) (and make a back up of your current settings)
WD ran fine all night but it looks like it stopped receiving data around 10am this morning. The Data Received light was still flashing but the counter wasn’t incrementing. Nothing on the display was changing either and my graphs stopped just after 10am. Clicking exit didn’t exit but I was able to quit from the menu on the menu bar. I compared it to the Mac Mini and the Mac Mini was still processing data.
I didn’t see a Nag screen at all but it wouldn’t be hard to miss with my setup.
edit ran for an hour now I’ve got a beachball. Is there any point in running it from a Terminal window to see any debugging messages?
