Since 10.37 f Wd crashes (Unknown error in …). All versions of 10.37 have this problem. Rolling back to 10.37e all is OK.
Checked whole system, Checked ram with MS ramcheck. No fault. And 10.37e is running perfectly.
I,m using WS 2300.
i do know that on some peoples PC’s (i know of about 5 people affected) if there is one routine that gets too large it causes problems
so i have split a few things out
in this .zip update http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.zip
Brian - I know mine locks up every now and then but it is always while I am trying to do mods while the uploads or data gathering is happening and the CPU goes 100% for 14secs, then XP assumes WD is not responding and either the program crashes or XP shuts it down, not sure how to determine what sort of crash it is each time…
Like last night I was trying to create this second banner with Custom Screen function
Yes - I unchecked the update box while editing - I think it is the combination of low spec pc and webcamapture function and large 640 x 480 pic, plus a lot of gif generation for the webpage every 5mins… I learn tolive with it and it is pretty predictable… 1.1GHz P4 Duron but has 1GB DDR ram to help;)
I’m not complaining - it was free - except the new Ram and WInXP new too.
I haven’t had a problem and I am on a very low spec PC, a P3 400 with 384M RAM. Currently running V10.37f b04 with web update currently every 30 minutes.
OK, i tried the zip file and it worked for 12 hours. Till this noon. My PC is a AMD Semprom 64 3000+ with 1 GB DDR Ram and an Asus Motherboard. So i went back to 10.37 e … now and looking for the future.
as i stated above, this is a few pc’s where if one of the procedures gets too big it causes a problem
i have split some more code out of that in build 10, .zip, ready now
I noticed on Sandstorm3 webpage, under Wind button that the rain on the 7th Aug 179mm or such, did not get on his text listing last 7 days, and another showed July 31 instead… =data is a bit mixed up. Total for month is wrong if there was 176mm on 7th too.
Perhaps he has been trying to manually enter data in the log to fill in missing days where machine has crashed?
You are right, i have to repair some more data. But had no time. the problem was that when the station was read out after the crash, it read double rain. was my fault. So i have to correct it now. But this is not the problem. I will try the new zip now and tell about it.
Windy - mine had crashed just this morning at about 6:25 - "A fault in Module Wdisplay.exe at… " and I cklosed that and another fault screen came up but went away immediately and back to desktop. Perhaps WDwebcamcapture was about to do somehting different - nah the animated one keeps going through the night, WU recveives through the night, it starts being added soon but morning sunrise pic used at 6:30… :dontknow:
there is nothing that i can think of at 6:25 in WD that is unique
try checking what else occurs on the pc at the time, like a virus checker scan or similar
All virus scans are manual only - I stopped ZA doing them and also AVG is on demand only too. Nothing else running, not even my PCI Tv capture card, but that has its own processor… it has had recent restarts too so it can’t be vsmon growing too big, it was on 70kB on Saturday. I’ll upgrade to the latest build tonight, I don’t expect anything different though. Thanks Brian.
