I was interested in have a backup of all my data on another PC in case of hard drive failure. So I have setup a second PC running Weather Display.

Setup was done using these instructions: Using Weather-Display in Client Mode
I’ve set it up using the Mapped/Network Drive Option

I’ve have successfully setup the client server and I’m retrieving data from my “Main PC’s” clientraw.txt file. Will the client WD treat the data as a stand alone Weather Display? Will it log the data in the same fashion as the main PC thus creating a mirror copy of the data, historical records, etc. on a second hard drive?

If you are doing this just for a backup solution, this is what I did -
Using WD’s backup utility, I set the backup to go to my mapped folder on my main machine. Then my main machine is backed up to my Iomega external hard drive with Iomega’s automatic backup software.

I’m not sure if the setup you mention will keep all the files you may need in a disaster.

In a nutshell - mapped a folder on my main machine for WD’s backup.
In WD, setup the backup utility to back up to the mapped folder.
I also have WD’s backup utility upload my backup files to my server daily which makes a second backup solution.

Can someone post a screen shot of how one fills out the fields in the backup screen? It is not intuitive to me. Thank you.
