VP2

Thanks Niko I’m going to give it a try now I lost the link you gave me before! #-o

When WD starts the little box pops up for Davis VP data extraction should I have checked off to clear data when done???

This takes quite some time for it to do?

I left mine unticked, just in case I want to redownload the data again if something goes wrong the first time.
I you tick the box then, my understanding is, it will delete all the data stored on the logger so you won’t be able to re-do the download.

Ok thanks I’ll leave it alone just in case!

Your data logger screen should look like this. Some things to note:

As supplied the logger is set to a 30 minute interval, you must set it to 1 minute by checking the 1 minute box and hitting the set button. This will flush any stored data but it’s a necessary step.

Use the daily time set option to be sure everything stays in sync. Use the test buttons to be sure it works.

WD continually stores the time of last data. When it starts up it uses that stored time to know when to start getting data from the logger. The “set time/date to get data from” functions at the bottom are only used when that process fails and allow you to download missing data. Normally you should never need to use that.

After you have set the 1 minute archive interval let it run for a time and then shut down WD for 15 to 30 minutes. Restart WD and check that it does download the data from the shut down period, and that it is 1 minute data - the graphs will have big steps if the interval is set longer than 1 minute.

Thanks niko mine is set like that and i just did the test it said success!! I didn’t have ticked the do daily but I do now!!

…and you did the archive interval set too?

Which is that one? #-o

The top left one, by the on/off switch.

Ok did that one to!

Good. There are too many threads on here already from people who don’t find out that the archive interval isn’t set correctly until they need it #-o
