I have noticed an occasional problem with the outside temperature recorded on my VP2. Outside temp reading changes to - - -.- approx every 30 seconds and occasionally the humidity and dewpoint reading on ED spike - see attached screenshot at midday and incl unrealistic max temp - I believe the data is coming from the VP2 rather than any issue with WD.
Any suggestions on what to look for?
The Mfg Code is the serial number and it’s clearly a recent unit so there should be no known problem there.
Is there something specific that makes you think it’s a VP2 issue? Does it still happen if you run the console on battery alone (ie completely disconnect mains adapter) for a while?
you can set data limits in WD, in the barometer offset and rainfall setup ,limits,i.e set to say 45
(and the latest .zip update of WD uses that check better)
The day max etc on the VP2 agrees with WD and the TEMP OUT intermittently ‘disappears’ which is what makes me think its the VP2 rather than WD.
I haven’t tried running on batteries, will try that. I also wondered if perhaps it is the cable between ISS and Console but the wind seems fine so had eliminated that in my mind.
I will try running the console on batteries and cleaning the cable connectors (I am running a (genuine Davis) extension cable with the supplied connector) and perhaps splicing the join rather than using connector block.
I could try setting the limits but shouldn’t have to
