Good morning all from a bloody warm, if not hot, Sonoran Desert!
I’m playing around with Email notifications of certain events. I think I’ve got it working in test mode, and I’m waiting for ‘real life’ messages to begin.
Ideally, what I’d like to do is send an email each day at 1700, and recap the high temp, low temp and humidity, cloud (if any) condition.
I “think” - therefore I ask! (experience!) - but this can be done, right? I suspect the 'custom message.txt file can be built to include these variables, and then sent out. Am I on the right track?
Thanks
Ken
Ken,
You are on the Right Track with the Custom message idea. I send out a morning Custom Email from WD, automatcially, that appears as follows:

tonight mostly clear. colder. lows in the mid 30s inland… around 40 coast. northwest winds decreasing to 5 mph.

Bob,
that’s very close to it, though yours provides more info than I had planned on.
So, now I know where and how, I’ll pick your brain if I run into roadblocks
Ken
Just checked my test email account. I set my initial test temp fairly low, about 84 F, and it seems the program has been sending me an email every hour that the temp is over this figure. Is this normal? Is there a switch (is it the send once per day one on the Main Setup Tab?) that will only send it once, when the temp is met or exceeded?
Thanks
Ken
Ken there is a big difference in Daily Weather Report emails and Warning emails and mine is set only as Reports and you specify the time and WD sends it at that time every day.

Bob,
I’ve just looked thru WD, and I can’t seem to find the “report Emails”. I found the warning ones okay, but at a loss for reports.
Where is it in the Options?
Ken
Ken,
I don’t use it myself, but if you go view-averages/extremes, the 6th tab over seems to be what you’re looking for.
Control Panel - FTP - Weather Report Email
