USB disconnected but I'm using serial!

I’m having this error message almost every day. WL disconnects and stop receiving dato from VVP. I’m using SERIAL datalogger on COM1 and redirection to TCP/IP port 5511 for WL 5.9.1 and 5512 for WD 10.37P. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled WL and VVP but no luck yet. I’m uploading data with WL and I’m loosing 3-4 hours of data every day.

Help please!

I’m pretty sure that WeatherLink is the program displaying that error. I will run a long term test with WeatherLink connecting to VirtualVP via TCP/IP, and see if I can replicate the error and get to the bottom of what’s failing.

When this error ocurrs, WL and WD leave to collect data from datalogger, I must disconnect and then connect in VVP and then all goes ok.

from what I understand earlier versions of WL did not do this
Davis looks to be overzealous in thinking there is a USB hangup problem

Hi,

I am having this problem a lot lately on a new computer, almost everyday, always at midnight. I am using the serial data logger.

WL v5.9.1 (official release not beta) & VVP v1.2.3 are running on the same Win7 64-bit computer. WD is on another computer. WD & WL talk to VVP via TCP/IP

I’ve attached a screen image of the error, and sent an email to Seve with all (I hope) appropriate log files.

Yep, every midnight.

I cleared my serial logger yesterday. This mornings (midnight) failure looks more like a VVP to Console communications (not WL) problem. What’s confusing to me (among otherthings) is it took 20 minutes (12:20a in the log below) for WD to flatline.

Steve, can you offer any suggestions here?
