Hi,I have now had enough of the Oregon WMR 200 as components are just failing and just stop working after 30 months.
Can anyone suggest anything (tricks or tips) about converting from the WMR 200 to the Vantage VP 2 plus and what settings etc are necessary to change from WD besides the normal station setup, com port changes etc, station type settings etc and can WD run at the same time as the weather link software?
Thanks in anticipation.
Congratulations, good move
You will need to zero any barometer offset that you are using with the 200, the VP doesn’t need an offset, and any offset that puts the baro outside the normal range will stop WD collecting data.
Are you getting Serial or USB interface?
No, you can’t run WL and WD simultaneously unless you get the VirtualVP software that will let you share the VP with multiple software clients.
Am using the USB interface.Where would one get the virtual VP software from ?

We have a virtualvp related forum http://discourse.weather-watch.com/c/35
You’ll find there are a lot of posts related to the VP USB interface with suggestions for getting the best results from it.
Hi Niko, Just collected the Davis VP 2 plus and didn’t realise how big the rain gauge is ( compared with Oregon). Just opening the ‘box’, one can see quality of Davis and I am impressed.
Do you or would you know if I am able to convert all the data from WD (history of 3 years) into the weatherlink programme when I install it? I would like to have weatherlink on my computer with all the previous data.
I can only setup everything this coming week end and am looking forward to this.
Thanks
someone has developed a .wlk reader/writer
so I gues in theory they could get it to create .wlk from a data source…
