I have a oregon 968

hi
when you choose the directory, you need to double click it, so that it then shows in the bottom white box correctly
try that
(i just did myself, and it works just fine)

No good ,I have tried that still will not produce a wxnow.txt file

do you have data appearing on the main wd screen>?
i.e what weather statiion type do you have?
email me your settings file, wdsiplay.ini, from c:\windows or c:\winnt

also, did you click on Save in the aprs output setup screen?

also, check you dont have wd set to output via the com port

Yes i do have data showing in wd

oregon wmr 968

i will send you my wdsiplay.ini file when i find it

yes i did click save it

no it is not set for output via the com port

i have done a serach and can’t seem to find the wdsiplay.ini anywhere

i have done a serach and can't seem to find the wdsiplay.ini anywhere
It's wdisplay.ini

Helloi have found it and will email you

my mistake
if you go action, back up registry entry now, then wd creates a copy of the wdisplay.ini file in the folder databackup, which is a sub folder created when you do that, of where WD is intalled

ive have sent you a copy of the wdisplay.ini

ive have sent you a copy of the wdisplay.ini

hi
you have it set to output via the com port
you need to turn that off (as I suspected)
(i.e,setup, produce a aprs output file, setup com port output of the data to a TNC, and then turn the switch there off )
and then restart wd

Hello,

Still no joy,i thought i had turned it off but i have made sure and still no WXNOW.TXT

it is working here with your settings
email me your settings again, the wdisplay.ini file, so i can check again
also,did you try restarting WD?

i think i see the problem
from your settings:
[Produce APRS file?]
option=yes
directory=C:\wdisplay\WXNOW.TXT

the directory you choose is just that, a directory
dont add in any file name to the end of that selected directory

try resetting the directory, to c:\wdisplay (double click), but dont add any file name to the end of the selected directory, then click on save)

Hello,

Thanks for that, Everything ok now. I see what you mean where i was going wrong.

thanks . I must say what a classs piece of software

best wishes from the isle of wight

great

i have made it now where you can not enter anything into that directory

great news from my point of view
