Twitter Data Posting Solutions?

So now that WeatherCloud has also been stopped from posting data to Twitter I am left with zero data or webcam images going to my Twitter account, making it kind of useless beyond big alerts I manually do.

Does anyone have any alternative solutions for posting Data from WU or WeatherCloud going forward?

I run a PWSDash type system with a fairly run of the mill set up (no Davis level equipment)

I’m guessing there isn’t really much left anymore beyond paying for IFTTT or Zapier to post images & weather forecasts (unless I’m missing something)?

Evening.

Worth a read: Twitter Trouble - #29 by Ricorguy - Weather Display for Windows - Weather-Watch Forum

Seems we can get a free account but they (people in the thread) can’t get it working with WD yet.

Thanks

Thanks. I don’t use Weather Display unfortunately
My Tweets were populated by Weathercloud’s Hourly Tweeting service (now dead) and via IFTTT Image Tweets (now a paid for service)
I use the Twitter API for other projects and know that a free account using the new version & protocols will allow these services to resume with the 1500 tweet limit. I can only assume it is poor API coding on the part of those services (and the desire for $$$ from IFTTT) holding back small scale tweeters using them as they have before.
If nothing comes up I’ll drop Twitter and go to Facebook instead, no point trying to use a service that is pushing users away I guess & things like Mastodon no one uses so it’s really Facebook or Twitter.

I wouldn’t be so sure it’s the third party services that are causing this problem. From what I’ve read about the X (previously Twitter) ongoing train-wreck I think they’re as much at fault as anyone else. Very few developers left, not paying bills and a host of other issues doesn’t bode well for there being Twitter (sorry X) in future.

Agreed, I’ll gonna migrate to the Meta eco-system for posts & interaction going forward because Twitter is in the death throes as you say

Hi
I managed to create a bot based on twitter API2 after deeply studying different tutorials
Example:

Maximum numer of characters 268 or the bot doesn’t work.

Can you explain to us how you did that?

Going back to this thread does anyone know how to set up IFTTT please so that I can automatically post to X (Twitter) again with my weather data hourly. There are brief instructions in here (see image) but I haven’t a clue what to do.

I have signed up for the IFTTT Pro+ (£2.50 a month after the free trial).

Can anyone help please or know of a thread or post somewhere with more detailed instructions?

Thanks,
Jon
