I want to ask something about the transport of an aneroid barometer by plane. For example if I buy an aneroid barometer from the internet and the seller sends it to my country and the delivery is by plane, could this damage the barometer mechanism or not ? Is that barometer good to use or not ? Thank you !
is it going to be in the onboard baggage?
that would be better
I once took a Kestral hand held weather station on board a plane and it got down to like 750 hpa from memory
if its in the luggage hold, is that the same pressure as the cabin?
I do not know some of your details you asked me. I just asked if the delivery company sends the package with the barometer by airplane and if there is definitely damage the barometer due to pressure difference caused by the altitude. Let’s say is a freight plane and the barometer is wrapped in protective foil and packed in quite resistant cardboard box. What do you think ?
A long time ago I took a scuba trip to the Bahamas and my old oil filled depth gauge was damaged by low pressure in luggage hold. I had to buy a new one when I got there. I needed a working one because we were doing deep dives to 150 ft and then had to accurately know our depths for decompression stops. This was before the digital scuba gauges (tank pressure/depth/decompression stops computers).

it would need to be an air tight sealed container (to maintain its pressure), that is strong enough to not break from the high internal and low external pressure
shipping by sea might be better option
