Time-lapse movie with webcam

Hi. I am SO glad I switched from VWS to WD. It just chugs along working every day with no problems doing all the amazing things it’s supposed to do. The one thing I have yet to set up is a time-lapse movie using my webcam. I think I read in the setup where it is possible to do that.

Can anyone point me to directions on how to set that up? I think I have my webcam taking the necessary photos every couple of minutes but I can’t find where to make WD access and display the photos.

Many thanks,

Gary

If you are talking about a video that is made by WD and your webcam images, check this FAQ - it is a little dated but should point you in the right direction hopefully.

I to recently switch from that OTHER nasty software! Sounds like you are as happy as I was after I switched!!

I also just finished setting up my Bird Cam Page! http://ourfishadventures.com/weather/webcams.php

There are many options available here. What type of movies are you looking to upload (swf/wmv), and how often?

also make sure you are using the latest version of WD as improvements in the setup and fixes have been made to the all day video setup in the webcam setup in WD

Thanks to all. Snowman, that was ‘zactly what I was talkin’ about. The all-day video time-lapse. Thanks for the link with the cool example. Looks like I’ll be able to get it working with no trouble at all. FishDude, thanks as well. Unfortunately I couldn’t get your movie to play. It says ‘connecting’ for a moment and then goes to ‘ready’ and stays blank on the screen.

And I notice there’s a new release, so I’d better install that as well.

But I’ve got what I want, so thanks for helping.

Gary

Hmmmm… I just reset it. That happens to me at work due to the BIG firewall they have! All the time lapse stuff worked OK though right?

Still ticked I spent so much on the OTHER software… It looks better to the uninitiated!
