Tides

Right, i have downloaded the tides program, extracted it to c:/wxtide and run the file.

I have set it to show data from barfleur, apparntly thats the closest location to the Isle of Wight.

2 questions.

How do i get weather display to load the tides times, i click on the Tides button under view then the “set port location” but it keeps asking me to download the tides program.

Also, how can i set the tide data more precise for the Isle of Wight (50.39n x 1.09w) (well thats where my station is, and that’s 3 miles in land!)

Go to the authors home page for WXTide and get the latest package available as it has the UK ports back in again. You should then find IOW data in it.

All of my tide stuff is in my WD folder.

Right, i have downloaded the newer version of wxtides32, its has portsmouth in its database, so i use that.
But i am still having trouble with Weather Display. Its is still telling me to download the tides file.

Tides is now installed in c:/program files/wxtides32/ (its default) and i have placed a short cut to this on my desktop.

What else do i need to do to get weather display to work with wxtides?

Stuart

If I remember correctly when I installed wxtides I also used the default and then figured out it woudn’t work just that way and I copied the following files to my main WD directory…

WXTIDE32.CFG
WXTIDE32.CNT
WXTIDE32.EXE

Then when I clicked on “View - Tides” WD properly recognized it was installed and allowed me to work with it from there… At least this is as best as I can remember LOL

On the WD download page for the tide stuff it states “You need to unzip to where you have weather display installed” so I think Bob’s right.

ah didnt see any info like that on the webpage, all i done was download it and reads the read me file.

It has worked anyways! I copied copy over to the wdisplay so i can still run the wxtide app away from wd.

Thanks for your help guys,

Stuart

Good Deal Stuart
