TFA Nexus USB problems when stopping and starting WD

Hi there,
I am having a small problem with my Nexus weather station. It is connected to a laptop running Windows 10. Whenever the program stops. either manually by myself or by the laptop doing updates, the connection to the Nexus is lost (the data starts flatlining). I am runinng 10.37S Build 143. I changed my laptop recently, but I had the same issue on the old laptop. I have also changed my Nexus console, but the issue appears on both. I have disabled all known power saving features for the USB ports on the laptop. When the program starts up it connects to port 1 and tries to download missing data but says there is none. The data received LED flickers away as if receiving data and the data quality is Green. I have found 2 ways of restoring data. One is to disconnect the USB lead for 10 seconds and reconnect, or to disable the port in Device Manager and the enable it again.
Does anyone have a fix for this issue, or is there a way of logging the raw data to see what is arriving from the Nexus?
