Tesa Weather Pro WS2980C

I bought one of these devices. I thought it was directly supported by Weather Display, but I think I was wrong.

Has anyone managed to get one of these devices working with Weather Display?

Hi WeeGraeme

The “Tesa Weather Pro WS2980C” is a Fine-Offset device same as an Ecowitt station.
Your station uses the “Y”-version of the outside part. Some versions have an “I” version.

And yes WD supports those stations and AFAIK in “local” and remote API modes.

Succes,
Wim

Thanks.

Well I can see that Weather Display is communicating wirelessly with the weather station, but it’s not receiving accurate temperatures. It’s showing good signal strength on wifi and the wireless link.

I’ll have to persevere.

Hi,

Always make sure that you are running the latest firmware on the station console.

The wsview app will tell you if there is new firmware.
There are often new or improved sensors and then an updated firmware is needed.

Also compare your uploads to WeatherUnderground and ecowitt.com with the data WD receives.

According to the website you shared, this firmware isn’t upgradable.

I did get it to work by linking it to the ecowitt server.

When it is working correctly you do not need an update.

The console itself is a WH2910, latest WiFi firmware:
(08-Oct-2023) WiFi-firmware EasyWeather 1.6.6 for HP2550, HP350x, WS2320, WH2910 consoles with old WiFi modem released

The device firmware is not updatable!

Some (or a lot of) users have the console just to look on.
And they use a “glas-less” console such as a GW1100 to do all the uploading.
That device can use all sensors and is easy upgradable using the WS-View app.

Best regards,
Wim

I think that is your only option:
