Ten PM forced restart

Hi Brian,
When I changed from the Gro Weather Station to the Vantage Pro, WDisplay stops operating at lightly past 10PM each night requiring a restart of WD. This started with 10.16e which ran fine with the Gro Station and has continued with all the updates including 10.17d debug. The error message from the debug version follows:

any ideas, after the cows of course.

hum, 10 pm is when the all day animated web cam image is done…and the web cam images from during the day…
do you have any of things set up?

also, untick free memory, under help, about, if you have that ticked (and untick do this auto daily (as that happens at 10pm too)

Hi Brian

Found that “Free Memory Now” (top box) had been checked. Unchecked it and that solved the problem. I guess a computer gremlin checked it because the box is marked for Windows 95/98 only and I think I would have seen that warning. Thanks for your invaluable assistance.

i feel like taking that out…too many problems for non 95/98 users

“thinking about taking it out. too many problems for non win98/95 users…”

What about WIN95/98 users? It does indeed free up significant amounts of memory when run.

I assume this feature was added to address some problem. What would the consequences of removing it be?

i have not removed it yet…
hopefully not too many non win95/98 users still have it ticked

Well, the jury is still out whether or not I need this free memory option.

Still trying to see what else besides keeping the monitor on 100% of the time keeps WD from going into a hibernate mode (hour lines squeeze up and few data points taken/hour).

Could postulate that memory gets too low. Going to run for a few days with this option checked and monitor off to see what happens.

Doubt problem is memory since there is >200meg reported to be free by WD.
