This is a continuing discussion about the Telecontrolli Rain sensor that was first started in this thread: http://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/46022
This is a low cost rain sensor with a built in heater. It works on a capacitive principal, so when it gets wet the capacitance increases and lowers when it dries out. It can be easily hooked up to a microcontroller and the capacitance can be determined through charge timing.
The price quoted by Telecontrolli for 50pcs is about 3.80 Euro or roughly $4.6 USD. I believe you can get quantities as small as 10 for that price. But, don’t quote me on that. I am sure there are a few people here that would be interested in using this sensor.
