Systems totally kaput :-(

Hi there, long time no see!

I had two working systems, running in parallel. The main one that I was using was a Davis, fairly standard. The secondary one was an Oregon, also fairly standard. This morning, I find that both systems had failed. During the night, we had a fairly active thunderstorm round and about but nothing very spectacular.

Went into what I call my office this morning and have found that both systems are displaying blank Davis/Weather Display data and graphics. I can assume only that some electro dynamic activity has done its dirty work.

As an old geezer, creeping up to 91, I really don’t have the inclination to reinstall everything again from scratch, even if I find that the electrics are okay or repairable. I’ll therefore leave my amateur meteorology to a much younger generation, possibly born in this century! Have some great weather!

That’s really unlucky to have it kill two systems at the same time. Hopefully everything else in the house is still working OK.

You’ll have to go back to analogue meteorology now…sitting in the shade watching the weather!

Yes, that’s a shame, I know how much you have put into running the station over the years. Best wishes for your retirement :slightly_smiling_face:
