Switching From Godaddy windows plesk to Linux which plan do I need for the Saratoga website design

Either the Economy or Deluxe would be sufficient. The Deluxe gives you more room to grow and experiment with other templates.
ok thanks Ken

So I finally opened a Linux account with Godaddy under docmarvweatherkalama.com
What steps should I take to move all the files and data to that domain from the Windows plesk that will work with WD?
If both your current Windows host has Plesk, and your Linux host has Plesk, then the easiest way is to use the Plesk migration tool (a Plesk extension) and it will do a server-to-server migration for you.
Oh dang, my Linux account has cpanel I know for sure, thanks Ken, maybe they have an ap I could use?
I feel a can of problems opening up here
I hear you swright1957, just another hobby, I started this website 24 years ago using windows front page,
Since it’s getting to be winter and I don’t like fishing in the crappy weather, I want to upgrade using Ken’s format, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
So I got an email from godaddy with a link to their cookbook-style instructions of how to copy your existing web files over to your new website ill let you all know how that turns out.
cheers Marv
Just a follow-up of what’s happening.
I called support to see if they could help with this transition and found out as Chris suggested they can do a “Windows Plesk” to “Linux Plesk” but Linux will still be in the iis mode.
I think I understood the PHP scripts will have problems using that format (iis) from the post in May 2024
So I chose to recreate my website using Linux cpanel.
What problems will have if I backup all the data and files from the Windows server then ftp them back to the Linux cpanel server?
I don’t know enough about Plesk/IIS to answer that. . . but I would use a good FTP client to do it, not Windows.
Hello bitsostring,
Thanks for the reply,
So after a few hours of going through the different settings in cpanel and accidentally parking my docmarvweather.com website, I decided to cancel the Linux/cpanel product and continue Windows/Plesk,
Godaddy support was really helpful and refunded all of my orders ($535),
Anyway, thanks everyone for helping
Here’s an interesting post I just found https://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/go-daddy-screwed-up-my-web-site/23813/36
