There is support for the WXT510, and since the ultrasonic wind sensor is similar to that of the WS425, I was wondering if the WS425 has basic support? I currently have two of these.

need more information, like the serial data protocol, etc
Manual here.
looks doable
i would like to see interest from more than 1 person though to make it worthwhile for my time to support it
Hi there,
I appreciate this post is some years old but I have recently aquired one of these Vaisala WAS425 Sensors off ebay:
Did this sensor ever get included into your software?
Ultimately I would like to include a Vaisala Temp/Hum probe as well (I have the probe and shield just trawling about for the digital transmitter part :-))
Its a project I have been putting together for my kids and I to construct over the winter
I have worked with Vaisala kit before in an aerodrome setting and I know they have RS232/RS422 etc outputs. I could find out formats etc
Regards
Paul
the link that Niko posted above does not work any more I see…hummmm
The Vaisala site appears to be down at the moment…they are quite good to get manuals off, I managed to get the user manual for a Vaisala DDP25 Display I got off ebay. I do have to pdf manual for the WAS425 as well if you want it?
Here’s a link to the manual that should work http://irtfweb.ifa.hawaii.edu/~iqup/domeenv/PDF/U428en11.pdf
(Serge, I could only find the specification at your link, not the data protocol.)
Paul,
Looks like the next step would be for you to get/make a cable (wired for RS232) and connect it to the PC. You should be able to test it manually with any terminal software.
Ok Niko,
When I look at the protocols of my book received with Vaisala that resembles

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the interest. When I receive the sensor I will check it out with a terminal program The Vaisala site is back up and I got a pdf for the sensor off their support section:
I have used the vaisala WXT520 in work and the Ultrasonic wind sensor has proved very robust in service over the past 4 years. I hope the was425 is just as good
